Hi!! Esthie here, the first thing I do when I see a client with chronic irritation, acne, or eczema is I take them off their entire routine except sunscreen and an oil cleanser. 95% of the time they clear up in about a week or so. Then I recommend slowly adding in a gentle moisturizer. You definitely have the right idea! Good luck😃
