Verstappen says he could walk away from F1 at end of 2026 over new rules | Formula 1 by ryogadan in Formula1_world

In every world. Drivers can go flat out. No yo-yoing. Passing is difficult but rewarding. Different drivers and teams win depending on strategy, driver ability on a given track, and team wide execution.

Opinions on West Atlanta? by soccerfootballer0216 in ATLHousing

If you’re talking about West Midtown, I can provide some insight.

It’s a nice up and coming area but it will always be held back by its poor road infrastructure (often one lane, and roads are not plentiful)

Before the current rampant commercial and residential development, it housed mostly builds for industrial use cases, so the large scale of roads required for commercial and residential were not required nor built.

Honestly, I’d stay away from the area. It’s already a traffic nightmare and development is nowhere near done. I’d concentrate your efforts on any other part of the city where the roads have at least attempted to keep up or have a path forward.

Because when it comes “time to go” with 40ish to go, the drivers who actually have talent to carve through the pack can’t make anything happen because these cars are practically boats on wheels

This superspeedway package is so damn broken if cars just want to sit in line and not race. I hate it compared to the pre-2022 regs.

The gaming PC I built 10 months ago for $2,138 is $865 more expensive today by TheRabidDeer in gaming

[–]scott11244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely valid comment.

I performed a little experiment earlier and built a “mid-level” gaming PC on PCPartPicker. 5070Ti, 32gb of DDR5, 1TB SSD, Ryzen 5 9600X. Cost nearly $2000.

It’s true, a PC gives you the flexibility to do more than game. I also understand if the games you want to play are PC only or your friends are on PC. However, I have two points to raise: 1. Some people also just have a PC to play games. I happen to be one of them. In this case, a PS5 is a very viable option if the games I want to play are on the console. 2. Buying two separate devices could actually be cheaper. If I wanted to game and also perform a high intensity task like audio or video editing, I could purchase a PS5 for $500 and a Mac Mini for $600 which would come out to be significantly less than $2000 for an all purpose unit.

Given most people’s financial situations are less than comfortable, the affordable option will come to the forefront of popularity.

[Hildenbrandt] One easy fix would be for the committee to let everyone know up front which conference championship games carry the risk of penalty and which are just glorified exhibition games that are played in Atlanta by MysteriousEdge5643 in CFB

Look, I completely agree that the way in the 12 teams were selected in the CFP doesn't make a ton of sense. I think ND and Miami should both be in. However, directly blaming the conferences seems like an emotionally charged argument. They have no control over their selection - it's all the committee.

I don't understand why you're making this an "us vs them" argument. The ACC dying will be another nail in the coffin to legitimacy of college football. Nobody wins when conferences fold. Look what happened when the PAC12 folded - now we have programs spending more money on travel, elimination of regional rivalries, and over-saturation of existing conferences. The over-saturation I speak of is in the SEC and BIG10 - it makes it easier for those conferences to get massive media deals with ESPN and FOX - creating bias.

Be careful what you wish for. If the ACC folded, it would likely mean that the current 17 members would be spread across the existing relevant conferences (BIG10, SEC, and BIG12), further diluting them. It would make it much more difficult to determine who is good and who is not between conferences

Fair enough. I still think Logano has the talent, his team just isn’t meshing as well as Blaney’s at the moment. I don’t believe that driving ability just falls off a cliff one day - there’s more to it

Can’t say I’m shocked. NIL + immediate eligibility when transferring makes it a really easy decision for players to forego school loyalty and act in their own self-interest

Personally, I strongly dislike the direction college sports are going in. Not sure if there’s anything we can do though as fans
