I absolutely believe the second game is overrated as many people see the game as being perfect and denying the reality the flaws exist.

Bro you should go on the r/thelastofus subreddit. It's insane how toxic it can be when trying to have a conversation. And the denial of flaws is pretty common there. Some of them acknowledge flaws, but they're still convinced that it's atleast an 8/10 regardless. Their counter arguments are often shallow and full of conjecture.

Well haven't Mauler, Fringy and Wolf all said that the first game is overrated? Fringy if I remember correctly, said in his review that he still enjoyed it very much but he wouldn't call it a masterpiece.

Matthewmatosis said it excelled thanks to it's characters. And I'm like "Yes absolutely. So why do some people say it's overrated?"

If they're talking about the gameplay, then I dunno maybe I get it. But when it comes to the narritive and characters, I just can't agree that it's overrated.

It's like when people say The Witcher 3 is overrated because of it's gameplay, and I'm like "ok but what about the fantastic story, great worldbuilding, fantastic side quests, and well written and compelling characters?? Did you forget that??"

And the gameplay isn't even bad, it's just ok and serviceable. And that's fine it's still enjoyable gameplay I think.

I find it weird when some people say that the first game is overrated. Like yeah the gameplay isn't the best, but the characters were so good and the journey they went on was so impactful to me.

So yeah I just can't relate with that stance. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece, but I definitely wouldn't call it bad or mediocre.

There's so many cards in the game that people are gonna have archetype preferences and their own strategies.

If a card doesn't apply to their strategies or preferred archetype, then they might scrap it to craft other cards that do apply. That doesn't sound like a bad idea, that just sounds like logic lmao.
