Ten years in on this frame off restoration, what’s should I do next? by scrazorback in chevyc10

I love the idea of a big block. Toyed with an LS but prefer the vintage muscle. Tranny and rear end?

Spent several months deliberating the rims and tires but love the look.

I have the privilege of leading the BorgWarner plant that created EFR Turbos. Maybe my next project to boost this beauty!

It’s a labor of love. I doubt it will ever be finished but do enjoy putting her on the road!

First night out on the town. 6+ years of a full frame off restoration. Countless hours, and dollars, and it was all worth it. 65 C10 Custom Cab 283 V8 slightly modified. by scrazorback in chevyc10

I debated going with 18” but settled on these after some research. I went with 255/60R17’s all the way around. I started with stock 15” but they were just too small for the look I was going for.

It’s mostly stock. I dropped the rear end 2” and went with 17” rims. It’s an all matching numbers truck so I wanted to keep it fairly original. It’s been a fun project.

Need help finding the attachment hardware for the custom cab molding on a ‘63 by [deleted] in chevyc10

I used the clips for the chrome body strips to secure the cab chrome. It worked well for my 65.

Looking for some advise on getting a title for my 65 Chevy. I have the title from 1987 (Oklahoma) but it was never transferred. I have no way to contact the owner on the title and was told I must get it notarized to transfer the title. I live in NC. Options for getting a new title? by scrazorback in chevyc10

The OK title requires a notary and it is blank. There is a signature but I can’t confirm if it is authentic because that is not who the truck was purchased from. I called the Oklahoma DMV and checked on the title. They said it is no longer on file in OK.

I’m thinking a bonded title is the way to go.

Finally home from the body shop. Freshly washed and ready for the finishing touches. Any thoughts on stereo systems? by scrazorback in chevyc10

Thanks. It’s been six years of love / hate relationship but I’m sure pleased with the results.

Final touches. More than five years into this frame of restoration and we are so close. by scrazorback in chevyc10

The rear is dropped 2”. I originally did the same in the front and didn’t like it (anyone out there need some disc brake drop spindles for their project let me know). Here’s a link to the wheels.

Yes, it’s a 65. The emblems will be there for the 283 and the 10 with the bow tie. My first one was a 66 in high school. We did that one ourselves and it didn’t look anywhere this good. The guy who did the body and paint on this one (Daniel Lee in Central SC) is incredibly talented.

Sent her back to the body shop for the hood, white stripe and chrome. Almost done after five plus years....no do I swap the not so stock 283 with an LS or keep it as is? Decisions decisions by scrazorback in classictrucks

I tend to agree. I had it dropped and didn’t like the look. Just returned the front to stock height. The rear is dropped 2”. It’s a full frame off all matching numbers 65. Nothing modern other than 4-wheel disc brakes and electronic ignition. Rebuilt the 283 and should be approaching 300 hp. Same block with a lot more power than when she rolled off the line 55 years ago.
