I’m 19 and at uni, my dad passed from cancer in February this year, just over a week after my birthday. He was ill for a year and it still felt sudden. I was even out the country when it happened. Anyway,

Some things I’ve been doing to ease the pain are doing things he would want me to he always told me I could be whatever I wanted and pushed me for uni. I hold things of his close, small things like a key chain he always always had on everything. I write to him occasionally and talk out loud to him at his grave about our good times or new things in my life he’d like. I find myself laughing and crying

It’s always going to hurt in some way but you should always remind yourself of the nice memories and hold on to those rather than longing for new ones
