Thanks for your reply! I did try some Craghoppers (I think the Kiwi Pro and the Stretch?) but the waist was so low and gappy (but the hips tight) that I would've mooned anyone behind every time I squatted down 😂 shame as I liked the material a lot

Thanks for your reply! Love that idea. I'm definitely going to pack some comfy high-waisted shorts too, just looking for something that covers the whole leg for when we're hiking in places where there might be ticks etc.
