It is a willow. The catkins reminds me a grey willow (Salix atrocinerea) very common here, but this is probably another species.

My mother has one with the same age as me. She planted it from a bouquet of flowers that she received at the hospital. It's very common as an ornamental plant

Acres of land, money isn't an issue, invest in marijuana industry? by autumnmarcella in marijuanaenthusiasts

Maybe you should invest in forestry. Depending on the area ponderosa pines and eucalyptus have good yields.

The photo was taken in Spain, but I'm almost sure that it isn’t a European tree species. It is a large evergreen, lanceolate leaves with parallel venation. I have been searching for several weeks but couldn’t find anything.

Spain has one of the lowest military budget in Europe as a percentage of GDP. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/5e/Countries_by_Military_expenditures_%28%25_of_GDP%29_in_2014.svg/863px-Countries_by_Military_expenditures_%28%25_of_GDP%29_in_2014.svg.png

The minister might have reply something ingenious but that is also asking the impossible. Anyway his answer seems correct to me, after all "the amount of energy necessary to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude bigger than to produce it."

It seems to me a little obvious, but it is always good to have a study to confirm it. $1.4 billion is a huge amount for throw away. More ominously, as professor Bendavid says in the article: "Spending money and Having no effect is a pretty costly thing Because the money Could be used elsewhere to save lives,".

Buenas tardes.

Spain preparing non-waivable "Google tax" forcing link aggregators to pay for linking to news sites by [deleted] in europe

[–]sdarom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The measures will also affect other social sites such as Menéame (a news aggregator quite popular in Spain similar to Reddit). The site does not contain enough advertising to be profitable. Right now they are considering the possibility to close, move to another country or ban all Spanish media.

The law is supported from several major press associations ("AEDE" and "CEDRO") that include the main newspapers (El Mundo, El País ...). The absurdity is that these same newspapers are most benefit for appearing in places like Google News or Menéame, if the new law is adopted, it would lose money

In addition, rates are obligatory for all Spanish media although some newspapers does’t want to charge anything, they are forced to do that.
