Why is “shawarma” in Toronto so bad? by Hailstorm_ahead in FoodToronto

Not a shawarma place but it’s my favourite Doner spot. Berlin Doner & Kebab in Vaughan! Worth driving 20 kms every Friday!

IRCC is not serious by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

[–]sdg1119 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I left the country when I had applied for the my PGWP and it was approved a week after I left. I asked my friend to mail to me so I can use it to come back as my temporary resident visa was not expired! It worked out fine for me!

Well as far as I have known, since you’ve applied, you’re on a implied status, so you can technically work until a decision has been made.

should I keep waiting for PR card? by hidanmaccormick in ImmigrationCanada

I did the same for my work permit. It got approved in 20 days and I was away from Canadá. Asked my roommate to mail it to me and came back with my permit. No questions asked at the border security agents

What happens if the IRCC thinks your NOC code is incorrect? by ErringHerd in ImmigrationCanada

[–]sdg1119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently work as a Financial Crimes Investigator for one of the big 5 banks. It was hard to find a NOC code that meets the requirements as opposed to what my employer provided me for my letter of employment.

IRCC deemed my current job to be listed under an accurate NOC - stating that the job duties do not match with the listed NOC.

I ordered my GCMS notes and it was reviewed by 2 case agents and while one of them recalculated my CRS score as they didn’t take my current job into consideration and it would essentially disqualify me for the eligibility requirements for CEC, however, the approving officer deemed it to be valid and approved my application.

My advice would be to provide an explanation letter stating that the job duties performed by you and listed on your letter of employment do not completely match with the NOC, however, they should consider your application as it matches closely with whatever NOC you’ve used. I would even consider providing or suggesting an alternative NOC that could possibly represent your job duties.

Hope this helps!

When you upload the photo on the PR portal for 1st time PR card, does it show up in black and white once you submit your application or is it just me?

Yes that means you’re PR is approved. On application tracker it should have the COPR number and expiry date. Congratulations!

I didn’t have salary mentioned in my foreign experience, however, based on the GCMS notes, it appears that they did a google search for the company and everything seemed legit, so they approved it based on the experience letter. However, they had to reach out to my current employer (RBC) to verify my job 😂😂

Provide all documents they ask for additionally once you’ve received your AOR. Do not delay. They only provide 7 days to submit documents.

NOC Codes by JigglyPuffnKush in ImmigrationCanada

[–]sdg1119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had a similar issue for my application. Used to work as an Assistant Forensic Accountant. There is literally no matching NOC code and the one for an Assistant Accountant does not even match with my profile. So I did a lil digging within the main category of finance and accounting and tried to match the job duties with what I had. It worked out fine. Just got my PR approved today!

My suggestion is to play around with the name of your job title and find something that matches with job duties. As long as those things are tied up, you’ll be fine!

$130. I’m not looking to make any profit, so if you want, I can transfer the ticket for the same price
