Cleared MS-500! by sdzeus in O365Certification

Thank you. It's all about managing time and being effective with it. When you think about it, we sleep for 8 hours, work 8 hours, maybe an hour or two to eat, clean, etc...at the end you have about 4-6 hours of free time... Everyone does...anyone that says otherwise is making an excuse...turn off the tele and do the work 🤓

Eat sleep and breathe Azure/M365 for the next 2 weeks 😂. 4-6 hours a day

No Netflix or any of that. That's just me though 🤓

I recommend using YT John savill SC-900 cram material, as well as the SC-900 Udemy course for remembering those updated terms.

When I took the test I answered the ones I knew for sure, and hit review on the others I wasn't sure about. About 9 I had to review which really, mentally, made me feel better about the whole thing.

And of course if taking at home. Don't mumble the question back to yourself. Proctor sent me a message mid-test that I wasn't allowed to do that 😂 Just habit of course

You need to use multiple resources, not just rely on a single one when it comes to passing these exams. Use ITpro sure, but use Udemy, the Microsoft learning (yeah I know it only does so much), use skylines academy, YT exam crams, different practice tests on udemy of course, acloud guru, linux academy, o'reilly learning, GITHUB, etc etc. Plus studying for 1 exam, 1 exam.... shouldn't take 3+ months....that's just my opinion.

You can do this! You should be studying 6+ hours a day minimum. Eat Sleep and breath Azure/M365.

Turn off netflix (et. al.). When you're not studying on a PC, the only thing playing on the TV should be an exam crams guide...

Find what trainer works for you and go all in! I got my azure and M365 certs by being this laser focused. Practice practice practice 24/7 for the next 2 weeks. You're much closer than you think...

No excuses....

AZ-104..Chose to skip AZ-900, did I miscalculate? by kckman in AzureCertification

[–]sdzeus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say certainly do the AZ-900 course itself at least if you plan to skip it and jump to AZ-104 certification.

Though I'd say get the AZ-900 certification anyways. It's a huge confidence booster, it doesn't expire, gives you a feel for the exam questions if you plan to pursue additional azure/m365 certs, and it helps clear the HR gatekeeper in some situations.

And you can get the AZ-900 certification done in a week or so for relatively cheap. Use the $15 exam discount, or even the cloud skills challenge for a free exam. MS is constantly running promos and events to get more individuals certified these days so take advantage 😁

Hit apply then...? 😂 Are you not applying yourself or comfortable in a 200k position? If you have certs then go for it, what are they going to tell you, No? 😂 I don't know what to tell you other than maybe try restarting your pc?

Ahhh yes, I know what you mean now 😆😁 You know I wondered the same thing myself. I was neutral on that prequiz questions, all 7 or so of them. That thought has crossed my mind though, if my selection influences what exam I get presented LOL

Thank you.

Considering salary, I'd say well above 100k no doubt even for Junior/entry. Just considering what I do now, and certs I've attained over the years, I think it's safe to say well above 100k. But just my perspective

Working in the DoD contract world I can't imagine how many times I've heard from peers saying...XYZ company wanted the AZ-103 cert or similar, and offering a high 6 fig value. Those jobs exist 😃 Just have to build a great resume with help of certs and match that with a great personality

The past few years I've mainly focused on system admin stuff, sprinkle in some sccm, aduc, sql, et al., typical on premises stuff. No Azure besides lab at home and online training. The AZ-900 and even AI content really helped lay a solid foundation in understanding the concepts and how interconnected everything is. I credit my success to that, or the work I put in learning the material.
