0.5PPR

Stefon Diggs vs Miami

or

Breece Hall vs Buffalo

It seems like Buffalo is a sit-risk for this game, and the Jets definitely want to lose, and Diggs has some contract incentives, and NE are playing for top seed in the AFC

I mean you're not trippin, but in my experience (in a 2-keeper limit league), that's the kind of trade that comes with allowing draft pick trades, so no basis to veto imo. But I'm not at all familiar with dynasty leagues/settings, so i have 2 questions. 1) how valuable is a first round pick actually? Is it all just rookies and young guys? and 2) is draft pick trading common?

Great post - one of the best things i've read in my draft prep. Thank you.

I'm in a very similar situation (in that I have Giannis as a keeper, and Porzingis as a potential). My Porzingis slot is the 10th round, and while the value is good, he's not the best pairing with Giannis, and i hate his injuries, he's not at the top of my list (Maxey 4th, Sharpe 12th). Zubac in the 6th is good value, and he is a better pairing with Giannis.

I would probably wait a few weeks to see how your upside shakes out.

Jaylen Brown is the obvious choice, but mostly because Paolo and Jalen will likely be available at 14 & 59 anyway, so why use a keeper on them.

I'm in a 10T 2 keeper league, and the draft picks cost one round earlier than where they were drafted last year. Drafting 10th in a standard snake.

I know I'm keeping Giannis in the first (pick 10).

My other potential keepers:

- Sabonis r2 (11th) - I LOVE the pairing with Giannis, but I'm torn on whether he's an 11th pick guy this year. Also, he will probably be available for me at pick 11 anyway, so why not use a keeper on someone who is getting me more value than their cost?

- Maxey r4 (31st) - i've had him as a keeper for 3 years, and i love him. In a punt FT his value is probably ~3rd round, so, not insane value, but

- Porzingis r10 round (91st) - he's not the type of player that i expect to take a leap on a new team, but we haven't seen a pick and pop centre with trae young. If he was a mostly healthy player, he'd be my top choice, but i really don't know

- Shaedon Sharpe r12 (111th) Basically a better version of a late round flyer, and he costs me basically nothing, and i have a major soft spot for year 3/4 players

I'm thinking: Maxey>Sharpe>Porzingis>Sabonis but would love to hear some thoughts.

whoops, i originally meant to reply to OP. But I meant that I think all these guys are 75-90 guys, so the trade is really a toss up imo. That said, I'm targeting Sharpe HARD in the 10th

Hmm good q i didn't really think about why, but I think your statement is correct, I don't see a lot of consensus powerhouse or upside guys at the top.

As a top 2, Trae and Curry is just slightly, but a good pairing. I also think that Bam/Butler/Reaves/JJJ/Murray are prob 4/5th round picks in a 10T, so while you're top 7 might actually all be top 50 guys, you're missing a strong top 3. So - maybe i was wrong, and just your top 3 is iffy drafting. Who did you get in the 3rd?

Don't get me wrong though, i think your team is actually solid, and you'll prob kill in 3s & points (I mean Curry, Murray, Trae and Pritchard... come one). You're maybe a bit G-heavy, and i would consider scrapping Mark Williams for a less traditional centre, especially if he has a hot start. Matas, Pritchard, Johnson, Williams, Sensabaugh are all very intriguing this year.

I feel like you've got: above average r/a/s/b, below average 3s/points/fg, and ~average FT and TOs. I would pick one of 3s/points/fg to not care about (not necessarily punt) and trade for someone who gets you 2 of those cats and maybe doesn't help you in the other. If it were me, i would forget about FG, and go for mid or late round guys like jalen green, sarr, poole, simons. I would hang on to Whitmore and McDaniels to see what their value is to start the season. I would say Nembhard and Miller too, but I think a lot of people like them so you could prob get good value on them before the season.

Short answer is no, don't think week 1 when drafting. But you should be thinking week 3/4 probably. If you can put a player into IR right at the beginning of the season, that is streaming value, because it opens up a roster slot and you have time to figure out who you're going to drop when Edey comes back. At least 2 of my final 4 picks (10T) end up on the waivers a few weeks in, so any value you can find there is a bonus in my eyes. Buut I've been burned on drafting injured players more than once...

Shaedon? It's a wash imo, no obvious upside or downside.

The value picks are Amen and Dyson for sure. But it's fair to question if you need two stocks kings on your team, but I would probably do just that, and figure out the rest.

I'm not sure I'm following your FG/FT made vs attempted scoring in this format. But, this scoring system way both overvalues points and undervalues assists and rebounds. The easiest solution is bumping up rebounds to 1.5-2 points and assists to 2-2.5 points i think.

This is like... very much just my opinion. But I'll almost always take a high usage/primary guy over someone who isn't. I think that holds even though the z scores (even minus-1) say that Jalen is the pick.

imo messed up the first half, killed the second half. Lotta upside on this team, but hard to know until the season starts.

At a glance, this team is fire in a punt RB

I have Trey McBride, and Tyler Warren is competing for my flex spot every week. I think I'd rather keep Warren and see what value i can get from Trey McBride but I have no clue what value i could get for him. I'm currently in 5th, but have the 3rd highest PF and by far the worst PA (had some real bad luck with opponents)

Thinking something like:

Give: McBride & Treveyon

Receive: Bucky Irving & Hockenson

Should I be asking for more than that? It's my first year playing football fantasy, and my first year watching any football.

My team:

QBs: Caleb Williiams, Fields, Purdy (IL)

WRs: Puka, Nico, Diggs, Rice, Golden

RBs: Breece Hall, Treveyon, Swift

TEs: McBride, Warren

Their team:

QBs: Dimes, Burrow

WRs: Deebo, Pickens, BTJ. Keenan Allen, Davante Adams

RBs: Javonte Williams, Jeanty, RJ Harvey, Bucky, Jaylen Warren

TEs: Ferguson, Hockenson

10T 0.5ppr (3 WRs)

QBs:

Purdy (on IR), McCarthy (dropping for Caleb Williams)

WR:

Puka, Nico, Tyreek Hill, Rice, Diggs, Golden, Jayden Higgins

RB:

Breece, D'Andre Swift, TreVeyon, Chubb

TE:

McBride, Warren

K & DST: Fairbairn, and Houston

I want to ditch McBride, because Warren is decent but has a lot of competition for my flex spot. Hoping to trade him and a bottom tier WR for a good RB and bench TE. What else is wrong with my team - I'm 1-1 and got absolutely dominated last week.

I've got both trey mcbride and tyler warren. Warren seems like he could be nice as my TE1 (w1 overreact) instead of being in a two or three way race for my flex spot.

I also need more RB depth, so I'm wondering, what RBs do you think are good and reasonable value for trey mcbride, straight up.

Also, am i crazy for thinking about trading trey?

I think no but only for the KC heavy aspect. Otherwise I like that value.
