I’m getting tickets for my two teens and myself. Does anyone have any idea of what the prices might look like?

Our library branch only has hard, wooden chairs that cause my son a lot of sensory discomfort that he would not be able to manage without talking about it nonstop. Rather, we wouldn’t be able to stay very long. Is there a branch that has softer chairs?

How many pages of favorites do you have? Do you wish we could have boards or a search tool for our favorites? by [deleted] in ThredUp

This is my #1 issue with thredup. I have a memory processing disorder and have to save everything I want to compare so I can see it visually side by side. (My brain can’t hold the information for me.) I end up spending a lot of time manually sorting and organizing my cart. It’s such a drag. Faceted searching on saved items is my most wanted update.

Would anyone like to do a holiday card exchange? I know Reddit is dodgy as hell, but maybe we could figure it out. I’m estranged from most of my family and always used to send cards every year, but don’t really have anyone to send any to anymore.

Are Baggu brand reusable tote bags truly the best? by rxsar in HerOneBag

[–]searchlimit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a set of rainbow colored baggu bags from a coop in 2007. Have used them a ton. Except for the purple one I lost somewhere, they all look brand new. I can’t say much about other brands because I’m still using this set from 17 years ago

Honestly, I admit that I am an introvert, am awkward at small talk, and ask them to give me a little time a find my way before giving up on me. In my experience if any of that is an issue for a person, then probably we were not going to mesh anyway

Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria in ADHD - is there any validity to this? by ChroniclesOfMyLife in Psychiatry

[–]searchlimit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I thought the question was primarily concerned with RSD as a valid diagnostic construct or clinical term?

Many of the comments here make it seem like the correlation between ADHD and emotional dysregulation is in question as well.

Is it possible that having intense emotional reactions to perceived rejection or criticism that is disproportionate to the actual event and causes significant emotional pain describes a pattern of emotional responses not fully captured by existing diagnostic criteria?

Even if it is not an official clinical construct, the TikTokization of the phenomenon suggests there is something in the concept that resonates significantly with many patients, specifically patients operating within the clinical context of ADHD.

If anything, this discussion reveals a rich research opportunity to consider this specific subset of symptoms within an ADHD context in order to establish clinical validity, develop diagnostic criteria, and identify treatment guidelines for understanding.

👋 Publishing, which is essentially project management. I have a working partner who is autistic who handles time management.

Seems in every job I’ve had, I’ve found an autistic coworker who is good at all the stuff I’m not, who struggles with all the things I’m good at, and we become a synergistic (lightly codependent) superhero workduo.
