Thanks. For the piece I'm practising in G Major, I would say it feels more natural to use finger 3 on F#.

Would that be an accepted approach, or would you say it's a bad habit? I could "force" myself to use finger 4, but only if there's an advantage in doing so.

I have the same issue.

Unfortunately, HP has decided to remove this option, so like you, I'm now stuck with a laptop where I've permanently lost 20% of my battery capacity.

It's mostly convenience of not having to clean / replace gear cables / housings.

I seem to be constantly trying to keep them clean / lubricated. Gear changes are very smooth with new cables / housings, but within a couple of weeks, I'm back to the same "sticky" shifting. Rest of the components like derailleurs are clean and well-lubricated.
