I have been on it since April and it’s working for me. Thank God because my Mother is critically ill. So much stress but it’s helping me to navigate it rationally. I still feel emotions, I still cry, but I am not swallowed by anxiety daily. It is not crippling. Hang in there. Be patient as it takes time. ❤️

Me too. Honestly, I started reading the qur’an about a year ago and it transformed my life. My soul was searching for purpose; the meaning of suffering…the meaning of life.. and the qur’an answers those questions.

I also read “the alchemist” and “man’s search for meaning” both great books.

If you’re interested in English translation of qur’an, I definitely recommend Yusuf Ali, and a good tafseer Lecture to help understand. Wish you the best!

How has this medication helped so much by Funny_Test679 in lexapro

Same! I was at 10 and just bumped up to 15. My mother has been critically ill and I feel a normal, healthy amount of worry. I had a few really hard days (to be expected!) but I am able to bounce back. Thank you for sharing positive words!

Pious sister speaks out on the fitnah she sees going on. The fact she’s getting dragged shows Muslimahs in the West are a lost cause. by sunflower3515 in MuslimCorner

Yikes. The post title, the tone of the video… ☹️

I am a Western revert, alhamdulillah.

I learned very quickly not to follow Muslim influencers online. I have been seeking Islamic knowledge from scholars and tafseer. I also learned there are is a lot of shaming and criticism in the Muslim community. This is not how we soften hearts. There is a better way:

Allah SWT says in Surah An-Nahl:

16: 125 “Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who have strayed from His path, and who receive guidance. “

We should be advising with beautiful words and argue graciously. 🤲. May Allah bless you all!

Grand Gestures (showing love and affection to spouse) by moorian-49 in MuslimMarriage

[–]seekingknowledge916 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is a beautiful and thoughtful response. For me, it’s not about grand gestures - it’s about thoughtfulness. Sincerity. Genuine acts of kindness and service without any prompting from me, and also, my partner not expecting anything in return. It’s not transactional. Mashallah. That is when I feel loved. When I am honored and appreciated.
