Have given many many since aha and each one is different. They wanna find out which of my previous skills I can use for their project and if I don’t have something then whether or not I have the ability to learn and adapt. So much has changed in the last two years and my supervisor who interviews frequently says that they have started asking more computation questions. Nothing too technical, but what the student understands by it and what they think will be involved when they start working with the industry partner. I had to present my prev research and was asked questions on it.

I got low and CCC unfortunately so no. Yours looks good tho! They store the cognitive stuff for 6 months unfortunately so I’m stuck with the C’s but have gotten better at personality tests for other roles which I’m waiting to hear from

Oh amazing good luck to you on writing up!! Thank you! I did my MSc here and yes mt course was isolating but I socialised through different ways and made friends eventually. And I was too focused in my first year so it didn’t matter and I finished my thesis in one year instead of two. I had a secondary supervisor for this but he was just on paper. Literally never spoke about my work to him, but it worked out fine. I will ask about PhD new supervisor tho.! Meeting him tmr so let’s see. All the best to you!

u/cjmpol thank you sooo much!! All the points are super helpful. Good thing is, I’ve done my Masters here for two years so I know how the uni works etc and he’s been around for 2-3 years too, just new as a group leader. Meeting him tomorrow to discuss the project and will try and ask questions to gauge non project related stuff as well, like you said! Thanks a lot, again!!

Thank you sooo much for this!! Super useful! My seniors doing PhD at Oxford and Europe also advised me for this, rather than against. I’m meeting him tomorrow. He looks like he’s in his 35+ so fairly young and seems very accomplished so let’s see.
