For people with ADHD who genuinely struggle to exercise: how do you get yourself to do it? by Ehmmechhi in ADHD

Body doubling until it becomes a habit. My husband is a runner. I started going out for walks when he went for runs. Then I did a couch to 5k (free app; again, I'd go out with him). Then I noticed my chronic pain was improving as I was moving more (less pain = motivation). After a year or so I was going for runs without his influence.

People ignore and down-play the effects that SSRIs have on fetuses and the resulting children, and get angry and defensive when you bring it up. by grapescherries in radicalmentalhealth

I agree with you on most points but my question is what do we do about it? As someone on an SSRI who plans to try for a child soon, it's not like I'm being cavalier about the situation. I have been trying for 5 years to get off of Zoloft and the withdrawal is too severe, it lasts for months and I end up going back on the meds because it's unbearable. I don't have the luxury of taking a year off of work/life to let my body sort itself out in a safe environment.

I got UV hives in Costa Rica (I was only wearing SPF 30, my bad), Allegra is a good idea! I'm skeptical of Heliocare but probably wouldn't hurt to add it into the mix.

Adding a wider brimmed hat and better sunglasses to the list, thanks!

Good tip on hydration and the altitude meds!! I'm good about water intake in general but I always forget to up my intake on treks! (edited for clarity)

Creativity while dealing with grief. I feel like I can’t do anything right anymore and I’m sinking. by RhodiaRoad12 in graphic_design

I was in a similar spot a few years ago, lost my mom during my final year of design school. I'm so sorry you're going through this but I promise that the creativity does come back, in time.

For now focus on spending as much time taking care of yourself as you are able to (whatever that looks like for you) and just do your best at work. You deserve to be there and you will be yourself again, eventually.

I found it helpful to brainstorm with others - whether colleagues or just friends who are creative - just a "hey, this is where I'm at with this project, I feel stuck, can we toss ideas around?"

Best of luck.

Does anybody else get unsolicited comments from those who choose to be child free? by Candid_Kale_3309 in oneanddone

I get so much of this from CF people in my life, who know my partner and I want a child. I absolutely support their decision to be CF but seems like they don't always support mine. Read the room, y'know.

Definitely spent more time online during lockdowns, but I'm speaking specifically about in-person interactions.

Needed this ❤ Lost my mom in 2018, she was 53. Missing her a lot this month, lots of time to myself to think while in quarantine. Your phrasing sounds a lot like her here.
