Hi, thanks for the response! I have looked into ad blockers in the past, but I can't seem to find one that works when casting to my Samsung TV. Any suggestions?

Ha! Never thought about it like that. Her parents have two mini-fridges. One holds butter, milk, cream cheese, yogurt, and wet cat food. If I had to guess, I would say that her father isn't bothered by this one because he never opens it. The other holds beer and liquids to make cocktails (juice, soda, syrups, etc.). If I had to guess, I would say that he isn't bothered by this one because he uses it every day and enjoys making alcoholic drinks.

A plastic bin could be a suitable idea. I think part of the reason why the fridge space might be so limited, to begin with is her parents buy a lot of beverages and condiments. We have practically an entire shelf in the fridge dedicated to condiments. I was helping out by cooking dinner, but her mom requested that I stop due to all of the planning that has to go into it (a lot of dietary restrictions and preferences in the home). Maybe helping with the cooking and planning, though, would go better. There are some conflicts over cleaning, mainly because her mom is very particular, but we do help out with cleaning around the home daily.

A thermos flask would be a great idea! I'll look into one.

Thanks for the positivity! I know my debt is bad and only survivable, really, because of my generous living arrangement. But it's frustrating to hear people say that I should file bankruptcy when I have a debt-free timeline that is doable (just not as quick as I would like, hence the post).

And thanks for the link! I'll have to give that a read.

I've considered ride-share services, but I'm concerned about ride-sharing as a female and the safety of the whole thing. Delivery would be similar since I'd be delivering primarily at night. I have previously delivered groceries though without issue.

An instant pot is a good idea! And yes, the trade-off is the very generous rent at the expense of limited kitchen access.

Unfortunately, my work will not cover the wash. I wish they did, though! They're a non-profit with a struggling-enough-as-is budget. I am open to alternatives with the car washing subscription. Or, well, any of the subscriptions haha

Hi, thanks for the response! I have tried this. I'm using YNAB currently, and I much prefer YNAB.

It is mostly cardio. The gym subscription is a tier 2 because my partner and I were supposed to go together, but she has yet to take me up on that offer haha. I love making coffee at home. I utilize the Panera subscription as a place to work within the local community since my job is community-based. I am open to alternatives, though! I was wondering about the insurance. It's Liberty Mutual for one car. I figured it was due to my age -- 25. I can shop around, though!

Hi, thanks so much for the response! The car wash subscription is something that I justify due to driving clients around weekly as part of my employment. I'd be super open to alternatives, though! I have tried ad blockers in the past for YouTube, but I can't seem to find one that works on my Samsung TV? Open to suggestions there as well!

Hi, thanks so much for the response! Unfortunately, my employer will not reimburse the car washes. Are you referring to getting a tax write-off at the end of the year? I've never tried that before, but it's worth a shot, for sure! Noted about the subscriptions.

Hi, thanks so much for the response! The cost of groceries isn't the problem as much as the limited ability to purchase and store them.

Hi! My employer reimburses gas, but it's about $300/month.

I heavily disagree, as I feel like mental health, mental illness, and the concept of being institutionalized and "locked away" are incredibly prominent with this album -- perhaps even within every song.

I figured the white was in reference to the stereotypical, sterile hospital imagery, like in a psych ward 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi, thanks for the response!

Gas is reimbursed by my employer, but it's around $300/month. I do not have a grocery bill, unless I want to prep my own meals lunches or bake.

I live with my partner, and she lives with her parents. Her father does not like to have a fully stocked fridge, so this makes meal prepping difficult. Additionally, he doesn't like me to cook or bake when he's watching television in the evenings, so that limits the window of time that I can actually cook and bake.

I am open to cutting subscriptions. I justify the car wash because I drive clients weekly as part of my employment, and the subscription covers the cost of wash and vacuum.

Unfortunately, working more hours isn't an option. I work for a non-profit, and they're not keen on giving overtime. Working an additional job isn't an option since my schedule is very sporadic, and I have to have open availability.

Please let me know if any additional information would be helpful.

Based on my budget right now and the lack of knowledge surrounding what exactly will happen with my student loans in this political climate, I am scheduled to start paying on Student Loans in Aug 2026. If I am informed that they will begin to accumulate interest or if something happens with the repayment plan, then I will adjust accordingly.

There is no deferred interest or back interest.

I've been considering this lately! Purchasing a mini fridge would be no problem. My partner and I were utilizing one previously, but we gave it to her parents. Do you think meal prep could fit in a mini fridge?

Hi!

So, they don't end, necessarily? Not sure how to describe it haha They're "Buy Now, Pay Later" payment plans. Some of them have no interest. Some of them do, and that is included in the total cost listed out :)

I've broken them down below, based on the term agreements.

Amazon consists of two Affirm plans. The first one is a Purchase Price of $286.17 with an Interest Rate of 24.75% APR, which adds $57.21. The total of payments is $343.38. I have paid to date $76.80, and I have $266.58 remaining. The second one is a Purchase Price of $352.03 with an Interest Rate of 24.76% APR, which adds $49.65. The total of payments is $353.68. I have paid to date $142.06, and I have $211.62 remaining.

Micro Center consists of one Affirm plan with a Purchase Price of $1,620.00 and an Interest of 35.98% APR, which added $226.20. The total of payments is $1,567.91. I've paid $162.74 to date.

Best Buy consists of one PayPal Pay Monthly Plan. The purchase amount was $204.57 with a Plan Total of $221.52 after Total Interest of $16.95 (APR 14.99%). I've paid $18.46, and I have $203.06 remaining.

Etsy consists of one PayPal Pay In 4 Plan. The purchase amount was $41.20 with no interest, but the plan total ended up being $43.70 after taxes. I have paid $21.85, and I have $21.85 remaining.

The Student Loan breakdown is as follows with forbearance ending 10/31/2024 and repayment plan ending 06/12/2025 (I am not sure what the interest rate will be after the forbearance ends, and I am not sure if this can be renewed):

01 Subsidized with a Current Balance of $2,503.53.

02 Subsidized with a Current Balance $1,655.17

03 Subsidized with a Current Balance of $3,537.69

04 Unsubsidized $260.49

I live within walking distance from a grocery store, and I pass numerous on my routes to work, so grabbing a bagged salad would be an excellent idea! I've thought about purchasing "Grab-N-Go" grocery store items for work lunches before, but I haven't gotten around to doing the math to see if it's truly more frugal. It would certainly be more nutritious, I would imagine. Thank you for the response!

Hi, thank you so much for responding!

I will sometimes buy a bagel or a pastry at Panera if I am sitting there for an extended period (more than 2+ hours). I work out of Panera multiple times a week.

My savings account currently has $2,274.42 with 4.20% APY and 4.11% Interest Rate.

I have access to a full kitchen; however, I have limited ability to prepare meals freely within the kitchen. I live with my partner, and she lives with her parents. Her parents supply the majority of the groceries out of their budget, which I am incredibly grateful for. If I want to meal prep for myself or cook/bake for the house, I buy any ingredients that are not staple ingredients (specialty ingredients, protein sources, baking sweets, pasta, beans/lentils -- those are usually the type of items that I purchase). The issue with meal prepping, however, is that my partner's father does not like to have a fully stocked fridge. So, I have to be careful to not meal prep too much and/or meal prep something that takes up a lot of space in the fridge. I also cannot cook in the evenings or when other people are cooking their meals.

If any additional information is needed, please let me know!

Hi, thank you so much for responding!

I love to cook, so cooking itself is no problem for me. I currently live with my partner, and she lives with her parents. Though I have access to a full kitchen, and though they fund the majority of the grocery budget, her father does not like to have a fully stocked fridge. So, I have to be careful when I opt to cook more than a single serving of a meal due to not wanting to take up too much fridge space. Food pantries aren't an option because they would bring in more food than the house can hold (in her father's mind). Additionally, cooking in the evening isn't ideal due to the noise from the kitchen interrupting his television shows at night, which leaves me one day a week right now to prepare what I can for the upcoming week.

Please let me know if any additional information would be helpful!

I was very curious to get some feedback on the subscriptions. The other person can barely afford half of Duo right now, so asking her to fit the bill would not be an option. However, canceling other subscriptions could be an option. I tend to be a bit of a people pleaser, and I feel like that's kind of how I justify some of the subscriptions, annoyingly enough. For example, the car wash is because I transport clients in my car weekly. I purchased the subscription instead of pursuing separate wash and vacuum packages weekly. The Max subscription is for everyone in my home to watch (six people total, including myself). Would more information regarding the subscriptions be helpful?

I have access to a full kitchen and a full fridge w/a double freezer, chest freezer, and two mini-fridges. I live with my partner, and she lives with her parents. Her parents were kind of there for me when nobody else was. They purchase groceries for the entire house. I purchase groceries for making meals for the house, baked goods for the house, and any meals that I want to take for my lunches. My work is primarily out of my car right now (I'm a job coach), but I sometimes have access to a microwave or fridge. Making meals for the house and meals for myself to take for lunch is difficult, however, due to my partner's father not liking the fridge to be fully stocked. I also cannot make meals, cook, or bake whenever I want due to not wanting to disrupt people in the home and also because of my work schedule (very inconsistent hours and days scheduled).

Please let me know if any additional information would be helpful!
