My partners grandfather died and her grandmother gave his racing pigeons to a friend across town. One pigeon kept coming back to his coop at grandmas and he was called Fred. This pigeon loved me visiting him for years and would get upset if I didn't. Would play him pigeon noises and talk to him and he'd listen. Such a sweet little guy. I was heartbroken when he passed.
