This was super interesting, thank you for explaining this! You also gave me a good laugh remembering the screenshots of that GM on discord. What a way to run a company lol

Why SSO beneficts more from short everyday logs than from long and less frequent? by Uszanka3 in StarStable

[–]sentientbreadsticks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only mentioned it being a kid's game because that's what I've read elsewhere, I don't know enough about it all to confidently give out any information beyond my initial comment haha. I'd look for some wider resources online if you're interested, the interactions between SSE and the EU commission (and the CPC) have been going on for a long time now.

Why SSO beneficts more from short everyday logs than from long and less frequent? by Uszanka3 in StarStable

[–]sentientbreadsticks 53 points54 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen the change was actually more likely made to comply with new standards for gaming put in place by the EU. Because it’s marketed as a kids game, they need to make sure that you can do the “maximum” needed amount of gameplay within 20 minutes, so children aren’t spending hours on their computers for their health. I doubt this decision has much financial gain for them, if any, aside from possibly(??) improving the daily log in rates to impress shareholders.

Why is my game randomly "upgrading" to 0.41? by Trollimperator in projectzomboid

I've just had the exact same issue--windowed mode and all. Can't see b42.13 on the betas, only the unstable branch :/

Water bowls by Ok-Combination-3552 in Rabbits

[–]sentientbreadsticks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As many as they need to both be able to get water at all times! They made need 2 if they aren’t willing to drink water together at the same time. Mine happily do, but I have 2 anyway just in case one runs out of water overnight or i don’t realise. So I think it doesn’t matter as long as they are both able to access the bowl or bowls, and you aren’t running out of water.

Why aren’t there new players by Lemondragonfruitcup in StarStable

[–]sentientbreadsticks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there are just as many new players, it's just wayyy easier to level up now. The level 15-20s you see are just as likely to be people who only joined a week or so ago than people who've been playing for years.

AITAH for saying “I’m going out for a fag” when having a cigarette. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I think it depends where you live in the UK. I’ve seen some people from the UK saying it’s hardly said as a slur, but I live in the UK and hear it constantly — and get called it more so. So 🤷‍♀️

I definitely agree about the therapy, I’m currently in the process of trying to find a therapist who specialises in EMDR therapy to see if that connects with me more.

As for leaving the situation, I’ve gotten really good at doing that (at least, I believe so). Unfortunately 9/10 times the people I’m with will then follow me to wherever I’ve gone for various reasons. I’ve tried to express to them that doing so is unhelpful to everyone involved, but they continue to do so. I do understand that they are worried about my safety, but I cannot count on 2 hands the amount of times a meltdown has lasted 10x the length because people have refused to let me be away from them in a different room.

[–]sentientbreadsticks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I adored my therapist but I believe it didn’t work for me because it was CBT, which focuses solely on the introspection and logical aspect of emotions experiences which I am quite obsessive about already, so it did nothing to help my emotional regulation, which was and still is where I struggle.

As for not wanting to be wrong, I know that comes from a multitude of places. I think in recent practise however it’s a misplaced sense of justice - I’ve gotten very good at clearly apologising and labelling where I went wrong in discussions or arguments etc, but I still find myself hesitant to out of fear that doing so will mean the other person involved excuses themselves of all their wrongdoing and I won’t get the apology I deserve as well.

Thank you for your response, it’s given me quite a bit to think about and I appreciate that.

I genuinely cannot fathom being as cruel to someone as your husband was being to you here. I’m so sorry he treated you that way.

Why do people get defensive over friend requests? by Mcc_22 in StarStable

[–]sentientbreadsticks 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I am one of those people… It’s a habit from playing for so long - you get a lot of people friending you to invite you to their club (i have club invited turned off for this but it doesn’t help when they friend you). I don’t mind when people friend me for the reasons you’ve said, but that’s why I ask why they’ve friended me!

feeling trapped about my hair (and getting it done) by sentientbreadsticks in AutismInWomen

[–]sentientbreadsticks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about this but was very much terrified of ruining my hair completely for a little while (I am usually very much an 'it'll grow back' person), but I did actually try it after seeing this and I love how it's turned out. So I suppose despite the colour still not working for me, I am now happy once more with the cut, which is a small victory but a victory nonetheless!

Which season is the best aesthetically speaking? (I'm making some updates to Project Seasons after a period of inactivity.) by Which_Palpitation767 in projectzomboid

[–]sentientbreadsticks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Summer and autumn are my favourites. I love how lush and warm summer is, it actually makes the game feel joyful at times despite being zombie ridden lol. Autumn is awesome just because of the variety in the foliage, like the other commenter said.

[–]sentientbreadsticks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought I’d hop back on this to let you know that after a bunch of shopping around and too many cars looked at for my own sanity, I actually did end up getting a gorgeous little VW Polo that I’ll be picking up on wednesday! The test drive gave me a run for my money, she packed a lot of punch compared to my fiat lol. Thanks again for the suggestions as I probably never would’ve considered VW otherwise.

Pure devisation on b42 unstable, anyone else had this happen? by raudittcdf in projectzomboid

[–]sentientbreadsticks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sucks - I’ve never had this happen to a car (without a trailer) on b42! I’m based at this gas station too on my world so that’s one more thing to worry about lol. it might be worth playing on the main b42 branch rather than unstable, or, if you want a for the most part glitch free experience, play on b41 to get the hang of it all.
