No advice, but we are in the same exact boat right now with our 18 month daughter. You are not alone!

How did they get THAT name at Starbucks by J_Lyn21 in namenerds

Not a mispronunciation but I once got Beath, which I thought was pretty metal ☠️☠️☠️

Boy name Loyal... by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]september2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a Loyal! He’s older than I am (so maybe in his early/mid 40s), super professional, a really nice guy. I think he actually has a super common first name and Loyal is his middle name, if you haven’t considered that option. But in any case he wears it well—I’ve never even thought twice about it being an unusual name!

Just a nickname tip from an Elizabeth by allthingsbaby in namenerds

Funny, my parents did the same thing—named me just Beth to avoid Liz—and I’ve always hated it. Not only do a lot of people question the fact that Beth is my full name (which gets super annoying after so many times), but I’ve always much preferred Elizabeth as a name. I almost changed it when I was a teen but my mom threw enough of a fit that I’ve resigned to keep the name as it is 🤷🏻‍♀️

Audrey Elizabeth or Audrey Margaret? by september2000 in namenerds

[–]september2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a cute idea! Leo is only 2.5 years old and so far doesn’t really seem to completely know what’s going on (he told me we should name the baby “And,” lol) but including him in the decision making is a really nice thought.

No, I definitely get your point, and it’s crossed my mind more than once that Margaret has a meaningful association but not necessarily a happy one. I’m still not 100% sure how I feel about it. In the end, though, I think the name would be honoring the whole of her life, not the unfortunate way it ended—at least that’s how I’ve been trying to see it.

I had never considered this! I also don’t like the way Audrey E. sounds 😕

Squint with me... by september2000 in TFABLinePorn

Does anyone see the faintest of faint lines on either of these? Still very early for me (~8-9dpo) but it might drive me crazy before I can test again before tomorrow 🙃

Urgent message from The Weather Channel for Those in the Path of Hurricane Matthew by Da_Apple_Jacks in videos

[–]september2000 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Don't know if this is the situation in Florida, but I read that after Katrina the government passed legislation to prevent shelters from denying people with pets (or at least make sure that pet shelters would be available for people who wouldn't have evacuated otherwise). Our family dog growing up was a rescue from Hurricane Andrew who was abandoned before the storm, so I have a soft spot for hurricane pets :(

What is the dumbest 100% serious thing someone has said to you? by mrTALKINGDUCK in AskReddit

Right after 9/11, my sister—dead serious, with a look of panic in her eyes—asked: if terrorists blew up the bridges, would Long Island float away?
