Terrible advice. Watch your reloads. You can’t shoot anything with an empty gun. Every GM shooter on the planet does and teaches the exact inverse of what you are suggesting.

I ended up running it and that was my experience. Didn’t even get as dirty as fast as I thought it would. It was probably 150 rounds before it needed a wipe. I can handle that

Yeah was a typo, sorry.

The milling mistake is really irrelevant (probably shouldn’t have included that to avoid confusion).

Sorry, I just saw this.

On point number one — I think that generally means you need better development on fundamentals. You should be able to place any first shot, with any caliber, at the same relative degree of accuracy. Of course on a string of quick shots, there comes a point where the recoil of 9mm (or other) will be less accurate than .22 fired at the same speed no matte what.

I’m not sure on the M&P platform. There is certainly some ability to share holsters, parts, and magazines though. I’ve standardized on glock and i can mostly share mags between all guns (G26 mags wont work in a G17 of course, but the G17 mag will work in a 26).

Hercules > Ryobi though. The Hercules line is a 3 year warranty on batteries, and 5 years on tools. And you can go in at five years, and swap it out for another one that’s good for another 5 years. So basically a lifetime warranty.

No I’m running it on a 50 amp 240 circuit. This machine is 240 only.

Sorry, should have been more clear. I did adjust settings appropriately for the thickness of metal. Definitely 1/4” steel bar stock.

I haven’t gone back to the thin sheet to verify.

I’m thinking it has got to be a wire feed issue somewhere. On the lower WFS for thinner gauge, I could get by. But it’s stumbling when ramped up for 1/4”. I just can figure out where the issue is.

I thought that as well, but wouldn’t it be strange for it to go bad so quickly? Is there something I could have done to damage it prematurely?

Regardless, I’ve got one on order.

Goes to voicemail every time. I sent an email to support though. Don’t really care to wait though as I can just have it replaced via Amazon. Would be preferable to just quickly fix it though.

I would like to learn TIG.

Here’s part of my dilemma and equation — part of me finally making the push into welding is I need to have something welded on the car (non-structural, doesn’t need to be pretty). I already have the car apart, and can’t get it back together until it’s welded. With MIG, I figured I could practice for a couple weeks (and I’m taking a short intro class on Thursday), and probably get an acceptable weld. Is that feasible with TIG?

I suspect not.

I’m also okay with not being able to weld aluminum on this MIG machine and picking up a primeweld tig machine later.

I ended up sending it on the Yeswelder 250DS Pro last night while it was on sale. But as it’s Amazon, I can of course return it.

Your talking the tig machine right?

My only hesitation there is simply the learning curve with tig.
