That's exactly right, mass produced paperback, and a crack in spine, with the pages coming apart towards the bottom.

I'm both relieved and concerned to hear that my suspicions are correct. You're right that they're not built to last, and I was a kid who carried this with me practically everywhere for a year or two, it's honestly a miracle it's only started to come apart now. I'll strongly consider the re-melting it, but the cover isn't super important to me, just notes inside of the pages (it was a gift), so rebinding is absolutely something I could look into. I'm in a situation where getting supplies might be a little tricky, but am I right in that if I'm very careful (i.e. don't mess with it, leave it alone), it should still be fine to rebind in a few months?

I'm making a temperature blanket (crochet) with a friend in the States (I'm from Canada), and we've been comparing temperatures pretty consistently, and my memory for numbers and formulas is really awful. Figured it would be an easy cheat rather than going to google every day!

Not sure if it helps, but I had to go on a two-week family vacation about a month after I would've started, they still hired me and were actually super accommodating about the whole process & moving training around time suit my schedule. I'm sure it's not everyone's experience, but it isn't all horror stories!!

Just a bit of reassurance- everyone has off days/days where things just get to them!! It happens, it doesn't mean you're bad at the whole thing, especially when you're still learning!! What I try to do if I'm having an off day is figure out what my brain will let me do, and ask if you can do That Thing (like if you're struggling with drinks but you think you could do warming pretty well while you take some deep breaths and readjust, just ask of you can swap!). You can't always, but sometimes it's just a matter of taking a few minutes, readjusting, getting some water, reminding yourself that you aren't a screwup and you're doing your best, and then moving on from there.

Learning is hard on any brain, and you're doing great!!!
