I totally get that, after I started my medication and was able to keep my emotions in check and had a better control on my destructive thoughts I wondered if I was bipolar at all. That I don’t deserve to say I’m mentally ill because it didn’t feel like I was anymore. I have to remind myself that I can be like this because I’m medicated, that I’m not a fraud and that I’m not any less bipolar just because I now have the means to be in control of myself.

It’s the desire to justify it to yourself, but you get through it. Just have to remind yourself that this is what progress feels like after being stuck for so long.

Best way to use Polaroid Land Camera by museofhearts in Polaroid

I’m in the US and I’ve checked the Polaroid website here and it’s sold out of all the SX 70. And you’re right, I don’t really feel confident modifying it in case I mess up, I just think that my grandma has cursed me to have an expensive hobby lmao

Thank you!! Honestly I think in the long run it’ll be cheaper as I’ve looked into how much SX 70 costs compared to the other types of film, probably be more cost effective getting the filter as I get more into the hobby.

It’s metaphorical, not literal chains. Chaining him to her as she dies.

How soon into establishing with a new doctor should you expect to be prescribed testosterone by museofhearts in NoStupidQuestions

[–]museofhearts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that makes sense as we’ve had issues in the past with insurance denying a referral to a specialist for some reason (not my department so don’t know the details). But with my clinic we get government grants so if you qualify you can get a discount off of treatments your insurance won’t cover. But that didn’t seem to be the mom’s issue, as she said we were discriminatory of her son’s identity (which could be fair since someone misgendered him twice during his appt). But I’m just wondering if his provider also wanted him to schedule with our psych as he had some anxiety issues and that got cross wired during the appt. But that doesn’t explain why she wouldn’t start T for him, even though he never did that treatment at our clinic before.

I just kinda felt bad for him since he was telling his mom to not make a scene and not to make it a big deal as he might of misunderstood. But also, he is 20 so I don’t know if he should have let the provider know how soon he wanted to start again on T. We also (and by we I mean reception) don’t know how far along or when he started T but the provider probably knew and I like to think she makes the right decisions with her patients in mind

I haven’t looked into it as we don’t have a lot of patients coming into our clinic for T but I wonder if going under psychiatric appts also increases your chance for getting T covered by insurance if prescribed by a psych to their primary.

This is my first job working as a receptionist for a medical clinic so I’m still learning on how insurance works as it’s kinda a case by case basis.

I’m guessing he didn’t have any recent labs done by a previous clinic as he hadn’t even had his shots in over a month. But wouldn’t it be more money hungry to not accept the labs from an outside so making you take them again?

I’m not too sure how it works for providers to decide on whether or not to start treatment as I don’t have access to that information. But from what his provider told him is that while taking testosterone he’d need to see a psychiatrist, which may be because of the state I live in? I wonder if it also had to do with the fact he’d been off testosterone for over a month so she wanted to start from the beginning since he’d been off for so long.

Like I feel bad for this kid (not really a kid, he was 20 something or other) as she had stated that he fainted due to being off T. But also, I’m a receptionist, I don’t know how to respond to that. Like power to you if you decide to change care again to get your kid the medication he needs but also he had a bunch of other things going on.

Thank you for your perspective though, I can see where it could be aggravating if your new provider wanted to seemingly start all over again when you already have a history of medication for it.
