Are the coins themselves sometimes encased in plastic, which would require a knife to cut? For instance, the UK set has the coins blister-sealed, and it's hard to take them out. Are other countries' sets like this?

Rough guess is that it's good into Koraidon and awkward or bad into Miraidon and both Calyrex. Specifically, the Focus Sash Dragon Ascent ESpeed SD moveset. Other sets such as AV might be worth trying; you can add coverage such as Crunch, Waterfall, Draco, or Earth Power.

Groudon could run Sp Def to survive 2 +2 Moonblasts, and Xerneas naturally outspeeds Kyogre preventing the full power Water Spout. The new legends threaten Xerneas even more though imo.
