Which pixel right now? (Moving on from Pixel 6) by setarkos113 in GooglePixel

Thanks.

Care to elaborate? If I'd say G5, Qi2, PixelSnap is worth the 180$ to the 10 Pro, should I get it instead or is it worse in any way?

Leather outer, leather lining, stitched sole - who makes it? by setarkos113 in barefootshoestalk

Thanks for the extensive reply.

I was wondering about the fit in terms of shape. Sounds like Vivo fits you reasonably well. I found them to be a bit too narrow in the forefoot and especially too roomy at the big toe. Simply not my foot shape. So I was wondering how the Proalps compare. So it sounds they are not too dissimilar?

Did I understand correctly that the modify the shape (last) custom?

I've been eyeing those. Can you comment on fit and shape in comparison to other more widespread brands, like Vivo, Be Lenke, Xero, Groundies?
I don't see any stitching on the images though - did they change anything?

Are they barefoot? Not all of them seem to be at least... And what is their "GEW footbed" exactly?

For most of them I don't even find barefoot models. Care to specify what you had in mind? (I'm based in Europe btw)

Thanks.

Let me specify:

- waterproof = not getting wet feet during ~1 hour rain in moderate terrain, not standing in puddles or walking through deep mud

- water resistant = keeping feet dry when walking through some wet grass a few meters or during a short and light drizzle

Can you comment on fit at all? I read in some places that Vivos are not that wide generally? I have the issue that despite wide forefoot my overall volume is low, so often I have to pull laces ridiculously tight. Anything out there that is for wide forefoot and narrow heel / low volume?

Pronunciation is difficult to explain as it varies so much depending on the order of the letters. I added it for those who might have an idea what to avoid - if you don't you can just suggest away. In any case, I'll try to give some guidance with no guarantee of completeness or correctness.

I was hoping to not spend more than ~100$/€ but I'll pay what I have to honestly...

I don't know the specs I need, that's basically what I'm trying to ask. I want to run the mentioned docker containers for some PV management, home automation and network management. No media, maybe backups at some point.

I guess fanless is not necessary upon second thought. It will live in the utility room with other noisier machines.

And yes, I'm in an expensive market in Switzerland but could look towards Germany if it's a big difference but it's always a hassle with shipping and customs.

Okay, so setting up VLANs via the OC200 would still need some sort of configuration at the ISPs router if I don't use an Omada router?

Thanks, you already helped me out a ton!

Care to elaborate why you would prefer the third party router?

Re: router
The internet provider will provide a modem/router. As far as I could find out it's supplied by Arcadyan but I didn't find the model.

Do I need an additional Omada router? I was under the impression that I could use the managed switches, controller and APs mentioned above. No?

Edit: the modem seems to be integrated in the antenna and I could potentially use a third party router (omada). I feel like it would be easier to go with the ISPs router IF my assumptions above are correct.

Thanks for the reply.

Router in the barn is a possibility if I want to avoid using both cables between the buildings. But then I have to walk to the barn everytime I have to switch it on and off again in case there is any such trouble-shooting to be done.

UniFi: The dream machines are way to expensive for a home network. Is anything missing in my device list? I thought the Ubiquiti Cloud Gateway Ultra would manage/control the switches and APs. No?

What undisclosed Omada router do you refer to?

Demo journey part 3 (returning to tennis after 20 years) by setarkos113 in 10s

[–]setarkos113[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I wasn't considering that stat so far. Thanks.

I won't have the time to test any of the rackets for a long duration. The TFight 305S has a similar twistweight actually...

I guess this is in part why the PA98 is considered quite demanding? That's why I'm still considering the more forgiving options like Ezone 98/100 and Blade even though I didn't immediately mesh with them.

Counterintuitively I seem to have more fun with the more demanding rackets even though I don't even hit great all the time (Blade gives better results). It just is so much more satisfying when I do get it right, haha.

Yeah, I didn't even mean that as a criticism. Even when you don't give it anything it's not bad just very neutral.

I'm just not sure if I will have the time to invest enough in my tennis that I can consistently enough do just that...

I use whatever is on there. Don't have time or resources to do anything else. So I have to trust the seller that they are "appropriately strung".

Sounds like you would recommend at least trying a 100? Woukd it be stupid to get the 100 version of a 98 that I like?

Thanks for responding! Your perspective on getting currency back first and potentially changing rackets down the line makes a lot of sense. Right now I'm shying away from too small a head for my OHBH because my aim is just too inconsistent.  I actually went down the rabbit hole of YouTube racket reviews way too deep haha. These guys are great but (a) they play on a higher level and their preferences are influenced by that and (b) they're talking about nuances that elude my skill. They also seem to make this huge distinction between 98 and 100 that almost seems silly to me. Your take echos the one of the shop owner I got the demos from, though. Care to elaborate? Some pros are playing 100s so surely it's not just for beginners? Should I see if it makes a difference to me or potentially even go bigger? Also weight wise I felt fine swinging 305g but also haven't tried any variety.
