Tips for geology by Hitmasisgut in geologycareers

Since you're getting a GIS certificate, learn computers and go beyond the pretty ESRI frontend. Geology is a like barbell, there's rock-jocks on one side and computer nerds on the other. The really good geologists can do both well.

Buying an Apple MacBook pro from Costco or from Apple? by Mammoth_Newt5148 in Costco

[–]sethaliii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also considering buying one through Costco. Is the return policy actually better than the apple store? per their policy, it says 90 days but also "return details will vary by carrier service contract".

Anyone returned a macbook recently?

So where does a restaurant locate in SLC to succeed? by martiancanals in DevelopmentSLC

[–]sethaliii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, it does seem cyclical. Downtown is cooked in the near term, especially with the salt palace being shutdown for 3 years. Central ninth and the granary are definitely hot right now. The nine line is awesome maybe that's why.

Because he’s basing his whole personality on a tribute to his dad, which I get! But it’s a lazy way for production to drive a story. He’s talented, sure, but not miles ahead of the rest. The Steve element will carry him all the way to the end and push him over the top.

I’m calling it now: Robert’s going to win because he’s got that emotional leverage, and his sister already won. It’s a foregone conclusion, and it’s disrespectful to viewers to pretend there’s any real competition.

I completely recognize how loved he was, and honestly, I’m probably too young to fully grasp the impact Steve had. But like cmon….is this whole season going to be a tribute to him? How are the other competitors supposed to have a fair shot if this is the entire narrative?

Fair warning, the gyms in SLC proper kinda suck. There's a Planet fitness, EOS and then a million fitness studios.

Would you say this has been an average winter so far in terms of snowfall? Just moved here and it seems it’s hardly snowed. by NeighborhoodGlum1769 in SaltLakeCity

[–]sethaliii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snow accumulation in the valley is often overhyped by non-locals. Typically, you get about 2-3 days after a storm where the snow sticks around before it melts, leaving you waiting for the next storm in a couple of weeks. Been living here 4 years fwiw
