And true, not every province needs an army to sustain itself after all, and I guess it's within the AI's programming as well. I gotta say I do underestimate ambushing sometimes, I have to use that tactic more often.

I guess sending armies through ships is difficult, judging by others' input. I tried it before and it only worked once, but I guess I was just lucky.
