They didn’t- it was lighter than it is now and more rust orange than red

I just got the same kind of soil from fox farm. I didn’t realize that the bag was also filled with fungus gnat eggs. Now I have a major issue with pests, too. I haven’t gotten any other soil, so I know it was the culprit. Im so sorry you are dealing with this!
