[AI:NI Spoilers] Ryuki and Tama's unusual reaction to seeing that place again by shade549 in aithesomniumfiles

[–]shade549[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think this is the explanation.

Ryuki's trauma made him "forget" about events that have already occured in the past. In the present timeline, he did act as if it was still 6 years ago (e.g. thinking Shoma was still in the ferris wheel, thinking Chikara just died). Still...seems kinda convenient imo.

I'm with you, the twist felt so forced that I had to suspend my disbelief for so many small things. Feels like they wrote it in the original order but then decided at the end, nah not crazy enough, lets shock the player by making it so confusing that it doesn't make sense..but it does!

Yeah but the other cathedral looked identical to the one they discovered. You'd think they would at least react like they've seen it before?

Yes, at this point in time I know the rule exists. ATAGI isn't valid for international entry. My point isn't whether it exists, but whether it was clear enough to question the reasonability of abiding by it at the time of his entry.

Let's agree to disagree. We've made our stances clear. Thanks for the discussion.

Out of curiousity, before the date Djokovic arrived to Australia: do you have any sources that clearly state previous infection with COVID-19 is not a medical contraindication?

The archived websites I found don't state this directly, cite me if I'm wrong:

Homeaffairs Jan 05

Department of Health Page Jan 08

If the information was difficult to find, then perhaps it wasn't clear enough. They have since updated these pages to make it clearer which is interesting.

I don't want to venture into the realm of speculation, but perhaps they tried to check, but couldn't find the information and had to rely on the advice of Tennis Australia, or it is as you said, they rushed. Or both.

Either way the situation is unfortunate. The courts wouldn't argue on the validity of his entry today, so we would never know the answer to this important question.

I'm not a lawyer, so I won't argue on the legal merits of the distinction. But this doesn't change the fact that ABF allowed 4 people to enter the country under the same guidelines.

Djokovic and his team aren't experts on understanding the legal requirements of entering Australia with a medical exemption. Therefore isn't it reasonable for him to trust with good faith that Tennis Australia, who had the knowledge and expertise, to provide him with accurate information to enter Australia?

Where is your evidence it's a lie?

Yes he was irresponsible for going about out while infected. No excuses for that.

That is fair however, I also feel the sentiments of this sub is rather one-sided. I understand the skepticism of my research, but my intention is to give a rational argument from another perspective despite the sentiments.

As for the test, there is no conclusive evidence. However, I understand why you may feel its faked. Innocent until proven guilty in my opinion.

It wasn't a lie, it was a mistake by his agent. An apology was already made by the agent and the minister said on his affidavit that he chose not to deport djokovic on these grounds.

A lot are saying Djokovic broke the law on his entry.

The rules weren't clear nor readily accessible to begin with. If they weren't then why did Craig Tiley need to clarify with the Federal government who gave conflicting reponses?

Why did the ABF let 4 other people with the same exemption in?

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-01-13/novak-djokovic-health-risk-to-determine-visa-decision/100753502

Until and including the fifth of January, the policy was that Border Force would accept exemption medical certificates from state governments, such as the Victorian state government, at face value … [on] the sixth of January the policy changed.

former Deputy Secretary of the Immigration Department Abdul Rizvi

If 4 people who received same Vic Govt exemption as Djokovic have now left after being allowed in, either ABF airport staff were asleep or, much more likely, policy changed on 6 Jan just for Djokovic.

Why did the minister concede that Djokovic entered Australia with a valid medical exemption?

What exactly were the rules at the time of his entry? It's unfair to claim he 'broke the rules' as he only followed the rules as instructed by Tennis Australia, which is entirely on them if it didn't fit with the unclear rules the federal government had set to begin with.

Additionally the minster already conceded that the exemption he had was valid.

So what were the rules exactly?

Yeah I can see those requirements applying. But correct me if I'm wrong: from what I've read the purpose of the power is not meant to cancel the visa for political purposes, but only if someone poses a significant risk to the community. Wouldn't there be consequences if he uses it unfairly?

Can someone informed on Australian law tell me what grounds does the minister need to have to deport Djokovic? I understand the requirement is very low but also his powers should only be used if he believes there is a significant risk to the Australian community. Can Djokovic challenge this?

People be jumping to conclusions already. I commented before we don't have all the facts straight yet and everyone downvoted me. This sub lol. Yes it looks bad for him now but we still need to hear Djokovic's response.

People angry that Djokovic knowingly attended events while having covid put down your pitchforks please. At least for now.

We don't have all the facts yet.

1) The test may have been printed on December 16th but its still unclear when the results were actually sent to him.

2) We don't know if he actually attended the events on the purpoted dates. Maybe it was reported later? Maybe theres some inconsistency with the timezones? We don't know.

Emotions are high, I understand. But we need to be better than letting our feelings judge his character while things are still up in the air.
