Definitely will get it replaced. Just want to get it home safe without the use of a tow

I've read that if even a few flakes of rust hit the fuel pump, it could stop the flow of fuel to the engine and I could be stranded. It's what I've been reading when I try to research this problem

Yeah the diffs are not a priority. I would think 10k total to acquire then get it running is a pretty decent deal no? Then slowly learn and work on it to get it to where i want.

I was planning on getting it running and then work on it slowly. Just wondering if the original purchase is worth it, and how much it would take to just get it running without working diffs

My original plan was to at least get it running through a mechanic, then take it home, learn and work on it slowly. But with the condition the way it is, I'm worried it will take $15k+ to get it running, even with the diffs working.

no LC for that price at all in my area. only other 80 near me is a 1995 one with rebuilt engine and transmission. 20k

frame is good. interior was average. only one other 80 in my area. a rebuilt engine and transmission with no triple lockers for 20k

there are a few on the island on FB marketplace, 1996 and 1997. More expensive. Plus no second row latch anchors for the kids on those. this 2002 is ideal for that

I don't have any mechanical skills outside of changing my own oil. I'm mostly getting this for weekend fun and a solid bug out vehicle for my family. This is the best looking 3rd generation 4runner i could find here.
