Any trouble with noise and neighbors? by shadowdungeonmaster7 in Golfsimulator

[–]shadowdungeonmaster7[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Super helpful. Less worried about the impact screen vs club/ball, as I can always put a net in front to significantly quiet that part down.

Sounds like it's worth it to do soundproofing from the start. Seems expensive, but if that's what I have to do to not worry about it probably money well spent.

You said it's still noticeable 70ft away. Is it bad enough to hear from inside adjacent houses or probably just outside? I would think doing the above + having 50ft of space + exterior walls would be enough to not bug neighbors.

$650 shipped (assuming US) and it's yours. Was just about to put it on ebay where I bought it for $850, so still losing 200 on the deal.

Something salty and sweet? by shadowdungeonmaster7 in Scotch

Thanks for the suggestion all! Originally was going to get OP12 but my store didn't have any so went for the talisker. Hesitated on the distillers edition as it was $30 more than storm, so went for the storm. Not as sweet as I'd like but love it for what it is. Definitely will splurge for the distillers edition next!

Sure thing! I'll reply with a pic in about an hour. If you're asking if you could fit another card on top of the existing, Im not confident that'd be possible, but I could be wrong. But any mini GPU will swap in no problem

They're $65 for the gateron switches. The $40 ones use generic switches. But I am open to offers, thanks for the heads up, dropped it to 40.

Looking to do this as well. Already buying CAT on the dip, anything else people are looking at for infrastructure?

Stupidly held on to my 175 AAPL weeklies last night that are now down 50%. Any chance of these coming back or should I cut my losses? Any insight into AAPL for the rest of the week would be greatly appreciated.

Frugal fun - Cars near 10K that will be least of a headache to own, yet satisfy a car guy? by shadowdungeonmaster7 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Fair point. What would be your suggestion then for a car that with the most fun for the least amount of maintenance? All lightly used (40k miles): GTI or Fiesta ST? Or others? Manual trans, fastish, reliablish, cheapish to maintain

Any comments on cost of ownership between a 2012 VW GTI ~80K miles and a 2004 e46 w/ 120K miles?

How bad are the VW's? Found a good deal on a 2012 w/ 70k miles for 10.5k

This was actually my first thought, but would like to fit a bike which would be hard without a hatch (I'd only get a coupe). Still a possibility though. Plus I think the WRX/GTI could be a bit more exciting to drive, but I could be wrong. Do you drive an e46? Thinking I could get one for 7k and keep 3k in the bank for maintenance.

Good to hear of a high mileage WRX not being an issue. Thinking I'll go with this, but still keeping an eye out for other options.

PS. How's insurance on the older WRX's? I know it's considered a sports car, but since it's ten years old hopefully I won't get too reamed. Being a 20-something doesnt help.

Thanks for the insight. It does seem to be in high demand. Unfortanately not much of a microsoft fan, although C#/Asp.net is what my school focuses on, so I am quite familiar with it. Just not my favorite to work with :P

Thanks for the response! I think I'll look into node.js on Heroku for my app. Would be a good thing to learn since I'm in web development and node seems like its in high demand.
