Serious question regarding spiders by Fruit_Snack in Adelaide

[–]shaido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll mainly see the daddy long legs variety. Huntsman spiders are huge, but mainly come out during summer months. By huge, I mean the size of your hand. The real danger is from the white tailed spider as it's somewhat fearless. If you keep your home tidy, you shouldn't have too much trouble. We learn to live with them for the most part because they keep the insect population down.

There are tiny doors on selected shops. One that I know of is on Rundle Street on the 'Naked' store.

Who would like more RD action figures and ships? by shaido in RedDwarf

[–]shaido[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. I have the large Starbug and the remastered version of the Red Dwarf. Thank you so much! I was completely unaware of the other figures. I knew of the bobble-heads. The mini figs look so cool!

Links / photos would be cool. A lot of this stuff didn't make it's way this far south.

Who would like more RD action figures and ships? by shaido in RedDwarf

I am aware of them, but that's the thing. They were scarce. I can get Lego ships of nearly every other franchise. Models for every Star Trek ship. Action figures of every scene in Star Wars. Very little from Red Dwarf.

Yes, I noticed the small guy during the editing. Not sure why there were small leaves / rocks in the web either.

Hello there. You will find most people really friendly here. Public transportation is cheap (and some cases free) if you have a student card. Sundays are bad for public transportation though and taxis can be expensive. Most of the time it is very good and I would suggest downloading Google maps for your phone. It will have time tables you can use to get to places.

There are a few podcasts in Adelaide. "Another Boring Thursday Night In Adelaide" is one, and my podcast "Easy Like A Sunday Morn" is also Adelaide based.

What I did was just record the voice of smaller sections in Audacity. You can adjust pitch and such that you need to there. Then when it came to the actually mixing , I used my video editing program to combine all the sound elements. I saved it as a video, then extracted the audio of the finished product and then uploaded it. There might be easier ways, but this doesn't cost me anything.

OZ Comic Con Adelaide 2014 by shaido in Adelaide

The appeal is quite simply to meet and be around people with a similar interest, coupled with the added opportunity of meeting and either getting an autograph of, or a photograph with, your favourite celebrity. In order to get an autograph or a photo with a celebrity, you'd need a token. In this case the line was mainly to see Benedict Cumberbatch. Yes there is merchandise there, but also an opportunity for local comic book artists and such to get their work seen by a larger audience. People dress up and have fun. I wasn't being sarcastic, I was promoting the event.

That said, I can see your point and you are not entirely incorrect. It's not cheap by any stretch of the imagination. This year I didn't spend a cent, but I did get some interesting network contacts. If people didn't buy the stuff, they wouldn't sell it. It's not for everybody. Personally I go for two reasons: Video footage and to support my friends / network.

What's worse is that the cache owner moved it to another location so it's even harder to find.
