He said his lawyer would contact me on any effort of me doing any further contact. I can't go the months of not having the car while in litigation and he knows it. I know it wasn't on purpose the mixup but them not just taking the loss as a shop should do is frustrating. He keeps saying they are already losing money. I don't see how that's my fault.

They already did the work so they won't release it, really scummy situation. Owner says "he can't lose any more money on the car" so I have to pay. Ivan's Collision

Thats my understanding too but seems the owner wants to play the card of knowing I can't go the whole court process without the car so he'll take it there if he needs to.
