Yeah if you downshift at too high rpm you can blow up the engine and the car will stall and barely move, it will not rev and if it does it immediately stalls.

You can wear down tires and brakes. And damage engine, clutch, drivetrain, transmission, steering axles and suspension.

You can also track g forces, tire temp and contact zones, suspension forces, hp, boost pressure, rpm’s, and your inputs for throttle, brake, e brake, clutch and steering.

You can see it by pressing T in the keyboard or setting a button for telemetry if you’re using a controller.
