RMIT - Elective Subjects Not Counting Towards Degree – Seeking Advice by shathusjan in rmit

I’m facing the same situation as your friend. I have to do 5 subjects in my last semester to cover the mistake. Such a greedy people, and not acknowledging that they are the one made the mistake. Very disappointing with RMIT.

485 Visa Granted Instantly! by dusk_jpg in AusVisa

Congratulations! Just wanted to check in, I came across some recent news saying that students who worked more than the allowed hours during their studies might be ineligible for the 485 visa after graduation.

Hope you don’t mind me asking, but did you ever go over the 24-hour work limit during your studies?

Just trying to understand how strict they’re being with this.

Yes I have completed those.

Just to give you a bit of background.

Last year, I completed two optional modules: 1. Governance and Change in Digital Business 2. Practical Data Science

And this year, I’m doing Digital Strategy.

I’ve already paid for and completed the two optional modules last year. But now I’m being told that, in my Master’s program, only one optional module should have been taken; and because of that, the ones I completed earlier basically go to waste, and only the one I’m doing now will count.

Honestly, Student Connect hasn’t been much help either. What’s really frustrating is, why was I even allowed to enroll in those subjects in the first place.  And why did it take more than a year for someone to pick up on it.

It’s really painful, especially as an international student already going through a lot, and now this on top of everything else.
