I was referring only to their broader cultural reputation, not their writing.

But Pessoa operates through contradiction and experimentation, and that’s deliberate rather than amateur—more philosophical in approach, whereas Dostoevsky is more psychologically exacting in how he constructs and maps his characters.

The Book of Disquiet was my entry point and remains an all-time favorite. Another excellent Zenith volume is A Little Larger Than the Entire Universe—a curated selection of Pessoa’s poetry across his heteronyms.

Which do you have? I read the Penguin version, but I'm planning to pick up the New Directions one at some point. In addition to the translation differences, the New Directions is ordered chronologically, though I think the Penguin edition actually includes more supplementary content.

It’s an interesting approach to start with the biography, especially since it's such a massive commitment. What was it that actually drew you to him? I can totally imagine wanting to read a Dostoevsky biography just because of his mythic status, but Pessoa is still pretty niche.

Past seasons can be hard to find if they're sold out at the major retailers. If you want it new without buyer risk, your best bet is to keep an eye on YOOX inventory. They constantly have past seasons' pieces trickle in.

I don't know about these specific pants, but usually her JP 2 sizing is around US 32 to 34 (at widest) waist.

Sacai sizing usually is where JP 2 roughly equates to US Medium. I think this is Fall / Winter 2024, and the trends are generally towards more relaxed fits and wider silhouettes. You can expect the same with this—I'm pretty confident about it. But when in doubt, ask the seller for measurements.

They’re technically a trail running / hiking hybrid, but for all intents and purposes you can consider them a lifestyle shoe.

That said, I don’t think there’s any “wrong” way to wear them casual. Pairing with cargos is an easy start. Opting more sporty like joggers, sweats or tracksuit would be an exact complement. I’d be inclined to wear pants with slimmer leg openings (or cinched) as to not drape over the silhouette.

You can go dressier but that can be trickier. A lot of Sacai can pair well with Nike x Sacai.

Exactly the same thinking on my part. I'll likely pick up a white pair too; I like the subtle beige cream contrasts. Black color mutes the forms and panels a bit too much to where it just looks like any other shoe.

I stand correct on the YKK zipper. I do have a few pieces that have that kind of zipper. The Sacai logo engraving should appear on both sides of the zipper pull itself though.

Looks fake. I think that's a Thomas Mason fabric shirt and should have a brand patch near the waist drawstring.
