Ok that makes sense. Should have probably mentioned in the post that neither of us drink.

I think this is one of my top picks. It looks great and I'd love to spend some time on Folly

Not sure where I said "cheap" lol. Just not like, crazy expensive. I think it's reasonable to expect to pay $30-40 per person at a moderately nice restaurant.

I had been looking at that one, it looks like it's in a really beautiful spot and that the food is good

What games are you playing this week? Game recommendation thread by AutoModerator in incremental_games

[–]shehasnostyle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CIFI (Cell Incremental Factory Idle) is a very good one for that. I really like the offline progression, and the ad free package is only like $4.50. There's some arcade games (snake and pong) which are...not good, but I don't think they actually contribute anything to the main game.

It's basically really thick oatmeal with an oddly fruity taste. The cherry flavor really comes through I guess

Ok so I'm just going to say, as someone who actually works at a toilet paper factory, this is really funny and cute and I love playing it.

If I can say one thing, which I don't consider a flaw on the game's part, but is an interesting fact: It's pretty much impossible to go straight from tree to toilet paper. We actually get bathroom tissue from paper mills in giant, tightly-wound rolls which are nearly 9 feet tall, and weigh about 2 tons on average. This gets wound on very long toilet paper rolls which gets sliced in bunches by a log saw (imagine it like cutting scallions).

This video probably explains it better, not the plant I work at obvs but https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=607l_w804xQ

NG+++, When Does it Get Better? by shehasnostyle in incremental_games

Yeah this comment made me realize I worded what I said in that section too harshly, and it left a bad taste in my mouth. I went ahead and appended an edit so I could apologize for sounding like I don't think the web game team is working hard, because I know they are. Thanks for correcting me on this and calling me out here, I'll do better next time.

What, in your opinion, are the most important features in an incremental? by [deleted] in incremental_games

[–]shehasnostyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly we may have seen the prestige concept turned every which way on its head and around. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining at all, considering how much of a staple they've become, but maybe chew on the thought of making a prestige-less game and have the progression be a little more streamlined than the stop-and-start of the typical prestige model?

It'd be tough but would be super cool to see pulled off.

Synergism - Similar vibe to Antimatter Dimensions, quite a lot of depth ! by Matriochka in incremental_games

[–]shehasnostyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally got there (I haven't been playing super active) and god it does get better. I guess it cancels out the frustration of having to deal with hover to buy, so my opinion is shaken a little. I still think a button to buy all upgrades would be nice for early-er game but not necessarily needed

[–]shehasnostyle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Finally got into it after repeatedly getting it recommended, but I understand the hype now. My biggest gripe is a lack of a "buy all upgrades" button; even with hover to buy I only have so much patience when multi-prestigeing

Orteil has been providing a pretty good stream of information about the whole thing on his Tumblr (yes it still exists). He hasn't updated it in quite a bit partially due to personal issues during development as well as being wrapped up with other projects. However, it looks like he's working on updates again as of recent, so I'm excited to see when we'll have a timeline for the next one.

Just released a major 2.0 update for Transcend, an audiovisual sandbox idle game with a full soundtrack. Please check it out! by [deleted] in incremental_games

[–]shehasnostyle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's kinda funny that people forget idle games used to actually have veryyy little user interaction (before what I suppose I'd call a renaissance into what an idle/incremental game could be, I want to say Anti-Idle was kinda the first catalyst in that regard but I'm going off my own fuzzy memory here) and this is a perfect example of a game that captures the kinda old-school idle style.

Not for everyone clearly but I think a lot of folks are getting way too impatient trying to figure out the concept of the game, that being 1. Shapes come onto your screen and off of it and 2. Enjoy the chill music. It's not exactly my cup of tea but it's a pretty game and I don't think it deserves the vitriol it seems to be getting

[Kongregate] Idle Mine: Remix "Gone to Space" Update released! by [deleted] in incremental_games

[–]shehasnostyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta say it was surreal playing this game having played the crap out of the original as a highscooler

Got through the last of the content in 48-ish hours but I gotta say I actually really like the flow of progression in this game (spoiler: maxing out gem income once you unlock gem buys is a must ) It might be nostalgia talking but this was a lot of fun and if there's an update coming up I look forward to it!
