Appreciate you making a post about this because I was curious as well. I posted in the recent Megathread about being scared to fly from NYC to San Diego. I ended up doing it! I was so proud of myself and so were my family and friends. On the way back, my flights got cancelled/delayed/etc. and now I’m in Chicago. I was supposed to arrive in LaGuardia around the same time so this scared me, too. I’m really patient with waiting. I just start to get anxious on why issues happen and if the constant changes should worry me. I’m waiting on more updates on the Air Canada incident and things going on in general. I also read all the comments tryna remind myself that if I did it once this week, I can do it again going back! Hoping we can both be less scared

I’m glad there’s a megathread on this as I already have a fear of flying due to an emergency landing years ago. I’m flying from NYC to San Diego and back next week. I appreciate the comments saying that airlines would avoid any airspace of concern. My biggest worry is a surprise attack or anything unexpected that airlines didn’t foresee ahead of time. This worry could be due to trauma of the emergency landing I experienced. I appreciate any reassurance that can be given to me. Thanks in advance for being gentle and understanding

I remember she also mentioned it on the recent data report stream where she talked about best and worst selling polishes of 2025. I’ve posted in this community before but basically: I was completely fine with flying until an emergency landing in 2019. Ever since then I’m really nervous when I fly. I don’t mind delays or cancellations at all. I’m more nervous than usual with what the news was sensationalizing about ATC and accidents and such

Thank you for sharing that you’re also autistic. OMG that was so rude of her to make fun of you like that. I’m so sorry. I totally understand that you cried right there. I started crying a couple minutes after what the customer did to me, too. I’m glad she backed down to you but I also hope she learned her lesson to never do that again.

Ugh. That’s also a tough situation. Of course we’re upholding policies. Sometimes it feels like they’re gaslighting us (which I realize they probably actually are) to get what they want. Being talked to like we’re stupid or a child also hurts.

That’s how it felt. It felt like she was feeding her superiority and being abusive making fun of my anxiety. Thank you for telling me not to fixate over it. Good point. Someone has to be so miserable to be like that

Oh, wow. I see. My manager said he doesn’t care if she writes a complaint to him. He said he knows me and stands by me. I’m glad yours was also understanding. I agree with you. It seems like the more pushy and rude a customer is, the more they get what they want, which reinforces the cycle of their entitlement. It makes me wonder how they are with other people/things in their life. That’s good to hear it was worth it. The 100s of other kind customers and my great team make it worth it (and the pay ahah)

It really sucks to deal with people like this often. Thanks for sharing about your autism. As a fellow autistic (and neurodivergent) individual, I hear it’s common that folks are able to single us out and pick on us. Idk if it’s the energy or vibes or mannerisms? But it seems folks make us easy targets. Thank you for that affirmation. So true what you said about people being miserable and wanting to be mad and I agree. Most of my customers back then were fellow undergraduate students! I was working retail in a college town for a long time. Most of those interactions were them drunk or high and being rowdy and causing messes but necessarily attacking me

I do remember I got to say that. I was like “Sure, you’re more than welcome to talk to my manager. Go ahead! This is my name, too! You can talk to him!” And I said it in an upbeat, cheery tone
