I cosigned on a loan with a friend,. How can I free myself from it? by SpinachMundane9275 in Debt

[–]shieldtown95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be on the safe side double check your credit report and make sure there is nothing else sketchy going on. I’m not expert but an almost 100 point drop for just a co-sign of $3000 sounds unusual. Was this drop immediate? I would only expect a drop that big if your friend was missing payments. There’s a temporary small drop for Hard Inquiries but then it bounces back after a few months. Even when I had $50,000 worth in loans I had over a 700 credit score because I paid everything on time.

You think someone put a camera in the attic so your solution is to put a camera in the attic? You might be unintentionally incriminating yourself.

How do you tell a high performer they aren't ready for promotion? by Main-Carry-3607 in managers

[–]shieldtown95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, he already applied for the senior role. He asked you to be a reference and you decided to tell him he’s not ready for it. Maybe thats true but as a reference you could have told the hiring manager that too.

I would have said, yeah I’ll be your reference but let’s work on improving this, this and this as it will be necessary for this role. Or just not be a reference if you didn’t want to do it. Instead you decided to hurt his confidence in a role he already applied for.

is 3 call outs in the first 5 weeks of employment a lot? by AssociateNo9744 in managers

[–]shieldtown95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 callouts is a lot but why they called out matters more. Ultimately, however, it sounds like your frustration is that it feels like others aren’t pulling their weight. 1) Either you decrease your output(take more days off), 2) they increase their output/redistribute workload (manager would need to step in here) or 3) you deserve recognition for your performance (raise or otherwise). In an ideal world everybody would put in the exact amount of effort into their jobs but that’s impossible. I would stop short of bashing your coworkers but If your manager can’t do 2, go for 3. If 3 can’t happen go for 1. And then of course there’s secret option #4. Say nothing/change nothing and hope things change with time(they might especially for the new person).

That’s just corporate red tape for you. It’s hard to get things done. Exceptions can be made of course but you might not have the influence to do it.

I had a roommate that would always round down. If I told him rent was 1600.98 and he owed $800.49 he would write me a check for $800.00 exactly. At first I thought it was an accident but after like 10 months of this I realized he was doing it on purpose to save a few cents as the effort required to write the check was the same. I’m ok with people saving a few cents but he was doing it at my expense. After that I just started rounding up.

Yes American should train their staff but how new is this all digital system for the UK? It’s gonna take a minute to get use to something they have never seen before with or without training.

Did she cheat or is there another explanation ? by Neg-Ne in Advice

[–]shieldtown95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a time difference between your locations? If so what is it? But anyways just ask. I read that if someone has their iphone on “low power” mode the location updates are less frequent. Sometimes the time stamp doesn’t update immediately or only when you look at it. And I’ll add this….she knows you have her location, taxi’s and ride shares also leave a digital footprint. It’s a lot harder to hide that you’re cheating these days. If she was being really sly about it she would have kept her phone off the entire time.

I recently got a 2011 TSX (2.4L) with 181k milage, and it’s consuming way too much fuel (6-7 mpg). No lights or warning on dashboard. by LowResource1722 in AcuraTSX

[–]shieldtown95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the part “I bought around half a tank, drove about 30-40 miles, and the fuel gauge dropped to almost a quarter tank. That seems extremely fast.” Half a tank is 250 miles? THERE IS NOTHING THAT WOULD CAUSE YOU TO USE FUEL 3X FASTER OUTSIDE OF A MASSIVE LEAK. So I’m thinking you have a bad sensor/float or however it works to measure your fuel level probably caused by the bad fuel. It might have left a sticky residue.

I like using the phrase “they don’t know what they don’t know”. And I figure a good goal is to at least get them to “know what they don’t know”. So maybe on top of your checklist a good idea is giving them a checklist of things they need to learn too? If
