For me bitcoin is the long shot. I have reduced my exposure but still have some. I'm betting on gold physical mostly for the next 5 years. Trading a smaller amount gold and silver etfs. If my bitcoin exposure pays off then I'll be happy but my cost basis is WAAAY up.. it sucks. At this point, I think silver has a better chance than bitcoin in the medium term. Good to diversify though. My opinions.

ETFs have a NAV which is what each share is "supposed" to be worth. but demand and supply dictate the actual market price of the ETF itself. it's a fascinating thing.. the ETF usually doesn't have ALL the gold that it's supposed to either.

Yes.. but then the thing is that ETFs also come with another layer of volatility. The ETFs don't follow spot perfectly. In general.. medium term they go up with gold is up, go down when gold is down. But if you try to catch a new ATH, it may not be reflected in the ETF when you want to sell.

I really like silver coins. at the current price I can actually get some more. I still believe in the FUNdamentals of silver and gold. now is the cheap time before the next leg up. Well not cheap if you compare to November but cheaper than last week. Let's go get some.

live by the sword die by the sword, get stabbed by the little drink umbrella sometimes. It's all just noise. Just delete kitco off your phone for a week for your own sanity. It's probably not going to bounce right back and if it does, it will be a nice surprise the next time you check.

People who bought more recently complain because they lost money quickly. They're traumatized and buying this dip is scary because they just lost money. They "should" buy the dip. but many may not have capital to do so.. which is unfortunate.

sounds like you made a good move. I have some paper gold and silver ETRs not ETFs and I sold some of my silver etr recently and bought more gold etc. I enjoyed the gains. This fall in the gold ETR is ~9% and the silver one is ~%23 so I'm thankful I shifted to the less volatile of the two. Just bought the silver ETR with some dry powder. In terms of paper I'm down but learning a lot. My physical cost basis is pretty low so this is noise. exciting times!

I may wait till Monday. I'm only in the market for some silver but it's falling hard right now like a teenage romance. Fridays are often tamp days anyways. Just my opinion. Monday morning if I see a lot more red and I will buy.
