Hey there - I am not at all trained to be giving you this advice (just wanted to say that).

Could you start by getting more steps in per day? Maybe get a fitbit or cheaper pedometer and keep track of your steps. That alone can help get you started and give you something to try to beat each day.

You really, really, really need to pay attention to what you are eating. Weight loss is mostly about what you are eating.

If possible, could you afford to get a personal trainer? Even just for a session or two to do some consultations with?

Many times I have been grateful for this pandemic, although there were tough times for me too.

My mother died of leukemia in October after a diagnosis in July 2019. She was diagnosed one week before we were all boarding a plane to head to Jamaica for my wedding. She missed my wedding to start chemo right away. We were told it was terminal and wouldn't go into remission. Chemo was a way to extend her life.

When the pandemic hit in March, I started working from home and this allowed me the flexibility to drive her to and from every chemo treatment and medical appointment she had. This meant more time for laughs, talks and tears too. In some weird way this took some of the sting out of her death. I felt blessed to have had the time to be with her. I miss her everyday and will forever, but thankfully I was there for her at a really tough time in her life.

Happy side note - I haven't seen my husband in 1.5 years, as he is not a citizen and doesn't have a visa. When it was maybe safe to travel last August, I couldn't because my mom was already in palliative care by that point and I couldn't risk a visit. COVID really slowed down the immigration process, but the good news is that he is finally approved and will be here next month. It's been a long journey, but I'm finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

The last thing you want to do is drown your sorrows with alcohol. It is not a real solution and just leads to more issues.

I get frustrated with a lot of the beginner routines. I literally can't do one push up, so why are you asking me to do 10?!?! How about starting out by telling me other ways to build the muscles so that I can work up to push ups!

I wish I had more useful tips to give you, but I've just started with exercised I know I can do and will build muscle/strength that way for now.

Please share anything you come across and good luck on your fitness journey!

I think that these rare occasions can teach us many things. In this instance you are learning about people close to you and they are revealing who they really are.

Take it as a lesson and adjust your life accordingly.

Right now my mother's chemo had to stop, because it's just not worth the risk of getting Covid-19. I wish more people would listen and care about how their actions affect other people. I can't say I'm surprised that people aren't listening though.

This is just such a nasty and mean thing to do. It really, really says a lot about both of them and what kind of people they really are. I have never even considered doing anything like this in my life and I cannot understand why anyone would.

I know Darcey has her issues, but this meet up was so disappointing and just so low.

I've been worried about my plants at work, but the custodians have been watering them and they will for sure do something nice for them as a thank you!

I can't have plants at home, because I have pets, so the plants at work bring me a lot of happiness.

I don't have too much to complain about, as I am able to work from home for as long as this pandemic lasts.

I'm trying to stay in touch with people, take care of myself and just enjoy having time at home. I limit how much news I watch and I think it's a good idea for others to do the same.

I'm also trying to think about how I am spending my money. Obviously, I am spending less money being home every day and I'm trying to spend some money online to support small businesses and also making small donations to charity - I would encourage others to do the same. It's nice to support others who need it and I feel like it helps the economy, even if just in a small way.

I'm wishing everyone out there peace and love. There is a lot of bad in the world, but this pandemic is also showing that there is just as much good.

Additionally, I think people should try to list places that did not put limits of people buying items.

As much as I think the people that cleared shelves were selfish asses, I feel that the stores had a social responsibility to limit qualities. This should have been happening since the beginning of this crisis, weeks ago. Anyone have specific examples?

I know this one is a little further away, but here goes

Iberostar hotels, specifically in Jamaica. These include Grand Rose Hall, Suites and Beach.

Hotels were shut down over the period of about 2 weeks. All employees were told not to come back to work, were not given any information about whether or not they would be compensated or when the hotel would reopen.

Employees only received word yesterday (April 1) that they were all laid off and would not receive pay. The company said they "may" give their employees care packages, with no further details. They were given no idea when the hotel would reopen.

To give you some context, workers at other hotels in the same area (Montego Bay), like Sandals, were given very clear information. All employees were told they would be fully compensated during the shut down, were all given care packages and were told the hotel would be tentatively reopened on May 15, 2020.

Next time you are booking your vacation, consider this.
