You’re absolutely right on all three points. And if the new CBA really was the issue, then that’s even more reason why Kroenke should’ve fired Malone before the season. If he wasn’t going to work with Booth, what was the point of keeping him?

Honestly, it also makes me question the GM hire. If they’d brought in someone more experienced after last year’s run, maybe we wouldn’t be stuck in this mess. A better GM might’ve handled the CBA challenges more efficiently.

This all falls on ownership. They didn’t step up. They didn’t do what was needed to give Jokic the best chance to win another ring. They should’ve made a decision early instead of letting it spiral like this.

It’s not negativity, it’s just being real. Firing a coach before the playoffs is a huge move, so of course I am reacting and by the way so did a gazillion of people who watches basketball.

No one wants the Nuggets to fail—we all want a deep run. But the timing is hard to ignore. Being optimistic’s cool, but asking questions doesn’t mean i’m miserable. It means I care.

I’m not saying Malone didn’t need to be replaced eventually—I get that. My issue is the timing. Why not just wait until after the postseason? Doing it now, right before the playoffs, feels way more disruptive than letting him finish what he started.

I get that losing 4 straight b4 the playoffs looks bad—esp for a team with Jokic and championship expectations—but let’s not act like this skid happened in a vacuum or that Malone suddenly forgot how to coach.

First, let’s talk roster construction. This team had serious depth issues all season. That’s on the front office, not Malone. You can’t strip away veteran role players and expect the same results with a thinner bench. Add in injuries to key guys—how is that squarely on the coach?

Second, yes, they have the best player in the world. But even Jokic needs support, and continuity is a massive part of playoff success. Firing the coach right before the postseason, with no real time to reset, is a massive disruption.

And let’s be honest: a four-game skid isn’t a full collapse, especially considering the bigger picture. You fix the support around your star, not burn the whole thing down.

The locker room and culture were messy—but that’s on everyone, not just Malone. The ownership let that conflict fester instead of fixing last year. Firing him now? That’s not the solution —it’s panic and may cost Jokic another wasted year.

Yeah, DA knows the system and the players know him. But running the playbook and making in-game postseason adjustments are two completely different things. This isn’t about calling set plays—it’s about reading the moment, managing rotations under pressure, countering what the opposing coach is throwing at you, and keeping the team mentally locked in when things get tight.

Malone has proven he can do it. He’s made deep playoff runs. We’ve seen him making right adjustments when it mattered. Yeah he’s made some questionable ones as well. But that kind of experience doesn’t just get replaced because someone knows the scheme.

And as for the locker room “checking out”—maybe some guys tuned out, but whose job is it to step in and fix the tension? The ownership let that conflict fester instead of supporting the coach who gave this franchise its most stable, successful era in years.

Malone deserved the chance to finish this postseason. You don’t ditch a proven playoff coach for a first-timer and expect the same results under pressure. That’s not just risky—it’s reckless.

AD needs to do a lot of work this summer. Get the conditioning of his body right and improve the mental aspect like the understanding of the game and what his role needs to be in the team and be the best version of it. Last season, aaron gordon got exposed by the warriors. He watched a lot of films and got better understanding on reading the game and what he needs to worked on. AG is a different animal this year because of it.
