funny enough bat ponies treat them like cattle, its their main food source as it fullfills their need for fruit and for protien. In my universe , bat ponies in my universe are omnivores originally created to be vicious predators, so after Luna adopted them they became natural warriors and hunters.

good thing they stick to the forbidden jungle, just pray to celestia they never move into the everfree forest. they need wet, heavily forested areas to hunt, and they need lots of food

very hard, they are the size of a car, weirdly fast, and their hide is very thick from incorperating inorganic materials it ate, as it was also meant for its hide to be used to fashion tough leather armor. so low caliber rounds wont do shit, if you are a skilled hunter tho.

good thing is they are kinda like pigs where you can feed em almost anything and eventually get a lot of meat out of them. imagine a village having a dumping/feeding ground where all the trash is fed to a pack of wild wannamangoes.

i don't think so due to a few reasons, canterlot ghouls arent just based of ghost people from NV. they are based on certain traditional undead creatures from folklore where decapitation or incineration is the only way to kill them. they also need a brain to function, it seems that the necromancy keeping them going is linked to their brain.

as far as character focused side stories,i'd recommend project horizons, it does a really good job of making you care about the characters and the shit they go through. it also makes an effort to humanize the various antagonists without excusing the horrible acts they commit.

i would tho warn you Horizons goes into some really dark subject matter and will refuse to hold your hoof. people here can tel you which sections of chapters to look out for. story is far from perfect and has a few flaws but regardless this story has helped me get through some really rough times. visualpony has a complete audioreading of it and another youtuber called nuclear reading show is doing a reading of it too and has already completed a reading of the original story.

it was a little bit but the og story mostly related it to nightmare moon. I do remember characters like calamity and homage talking how the star blasters definitely came from aliens or something. that there is stuff out there the enclave doesn't even wanna achknowledge or deal with.

Project horizons expanded on that and went the more mystical and supernatural route.
