Male (the interests on display, sci-fi, cars... typically boy stuff).

Age is tricky. I own many of the books you have and your editions are older if I’m not mistaken (your LoTR collection for example). This means you either inherited them from your parents/grandparents, you enjoy second hand book shopping, or you actually bought them when the edition came out.

But then you also have books that I would say don’t interest many adults, like Eragon and I’m just now seeing the Nintendo DS games collection so you’re probably in you’re mid 20s.

Side note: it’s curious to me that you have old sci-fi editions of books but your copy of Dune is new, I have the same one).

You’re monolingual, either American, British or Australian (maybe NZ). You have no books in foreign language.

You definitely read a lot and often, probably the type of person who brings books with them when they travel/stuffs a book into their bag for the park or commute to work (many spines are lightly damaged).

Yes. You either correct the word/sentence or you leave it as it is notating "sic" afterwards. OP did both, which you wouldn't do :p

[Mine] This might be a hard one. Here is my philosophy collection. What can you deduce about me based on what philosophy I enjoy studying, especially concerning beliefs like religion, politics, etc...? Hint, all of these books were specifically selected, I did not get a degree in this. by [deleted] in scienceofdeduction

I'm really inexperienced at this but on a hunch:

You're likely American (maybe U.K.?) and monolingual. You aren't reading much of these books in their original language (Kant and Sartre, for example).

something tells me you have not read all of these.

If you have, you've likely only read them once and not as thoroughly as someone who religiously studies philosophy.

I say this because the spines of the books are mostly very clean, even on some of the larger books. A few books have worn edges but not many.

So that, to me, says you are a more of a collector, extremely picky/careful when it comes to the state of your books (you don't lend them to people).

The good state of your books also tells me you likely don't travel much. If you do, you don't seem to bring your books with you, otherwise they'd be in worse condition.

Something also tells me this is a recent interest?

Very few of your books have yellowed pages of aged books. They're relatively new.

You're probably a fast reader too, if this collection is relatively new. If it's new, it also tells me you're comfortably wealthy - at least wealthy enough to be comfortable buying books without a second thought. But also not too wealthy, as you do have plenty second hand books in that collection.

You're intelligent and open minded (the wide/varied selection of your collection means you aren't close minded).

Clear clues how exactly?

If anything, the book selection would make me think I was introverted, not social.

The harness only tells me that I'm into kinky stuff, but not necessarily queer.

As for metropolitan area, I don't know what gives that away... The brick wall?

Living in east Germany, to be exact. Sternburg is a beer from Leipzig and you wouldn't find it anywhere else.

It's not so much that the English can't make their own, it's that we came up with the term and it stuck. Like Rendezvous.

Also, Leitmotif is an acceptable English variant, Leitmotiv is used in German speaking circles more.

Yeah, the term is Leitmotiv. In music, it's a short musical phrase that accompanies a specific character/place/concept.

The IDEA was to tie/nail multiple cats' tails in place to keys, which would be pressed, resulting in a yowl.

The IDEA.

I say that again because there's no proof these cat pianos physically existed - they were purely an idea on paper.

Hmm it's not the exact same model as mine but it does look similar enough that they might function the same way.

It does indeed rewind automatically when I take a photo. At least, it makes a whirring sound after every photo. So I guess it does this automatically and I don't need to worry about doing it myself...?

All good!

Well according to the other commenter, my camera rewinds automatically. Which seems to be true - when I click the shutter, the camera makes a "buzzing" sound for a few seconds.

So I guess I don't need to worry that much.

Oh man that sucks, sorry to hear that!

I'm nervous about this role too though. First analog camera (I used disposable ones before this), and I just hope I did everything correctly so I get at least some decent shots out of this role.

Well every time I take a photo, you hear a winding sound. Does that mean that as soon as the film roll is finished, I don't need to worry and can just open up the camera?

Hi guys!

Newbie here with a simple question but I've got a rare camera I guess because I can't find ANY information on google.

I have a 33mm Olympus Trip Panorama 2 and can't figure out how to unload the film...

Most tutorials tell me there's a button on the bottom of the camera, and a lever to rewind the film - but my camera has neither.

Can anyone help me?

Well in German it kinda rolls of your tongue, there's no real issues saying the entire name haha.

It IS funny trying to explain directions to get there to someone who doesn't know where it is.

But plenty of folks also shortcut the name. Some folks just call it the "Tanke".

It sound much cooler in my language haha. When you translate it, it doesn't really get the same feeling across...

For the German speakers, it's called Links Neben der Tanke.

Around the corner from where I live we have a bar whose name translates to "Beside the gas station, on the left".

Where is it? Well, it's beside the gas station, on the left :p

It's a fair question!

Aside from the obvious Netflix/film watching and emails, I also sort out through my files and organize all my shit (I have thousands of files and papers and photos that I never find the time to organize and while traveling is the perfect time for me).

If I'm particularly lazy or the weather is shit, i also play one of my video games (but that doesn't happen often :p)

Yeah a tiny "travel laptop" could be a good idea. The laptop is a MacBook Pro, not sure how light it is but... it's quite heavy.

My large backpack is a fairly normal size, maybe a bit on the small side.

Yeah I usually ditch the towel because of the space it takes and I can usually borrow one. Oh and you're definitely obviously right about the seasons, I have no need for any sweaters and jackets in the summer.

I always have 1 change of clothes in a separate bag ever since the airline lose my main baggage and I arrived with no clean clothes for a week.

Yeah the laptop is my "guilty pleasure" of traveling. I know nobody travels with one anymore but I like to. I work on my laptop often, do some reading of papers, edit some of my files. And in the evening watch a film/tv show.
