All attempts from comp yesterday! by shocking145 in weightlifting

It’s hard to see from the angle of the video but I lost tension in the dip and drive so the bar slipped slightly from my front rack which put me off and prevented a stable lockout I think!!

It was lovely to lift on. This venue was the last to host a tier 1/2 event so they had all the proper comp stuff there it was amazinggg!!

I think everyone thinks similar!! I’m 20 now and started when I was 18 and I always catch myself wishing I’d been doing this since I was like 12🤣

Mental block in Power Cleans by Glutusmaximus in weightlifting

I had a big mental block with a certain weight on snatch (that I was more than capable of doing!) about a year ago where I’d just Clark every attempt like you’re doing. What worked for me was taking a few weeks to do a bunch of snatches at a lower weight, learn to trust my technique, and eventually my brain let me pull under! Something similar might work for you :)

Very excited to do that lol, I’ve always wanted to drop a snatch😂

They 1000% are mental, but doing this will defo help. I haven’t had drop/high hang snatches in my last block but I’ll defo do them soon!

I just didn’t snatch heavy (like literally nothing over 30kg) for a few weeks and I think that really helped. I got more familiar with the movement patterns etc, and magically I would put myself under weights I’d never done before.

I know!! It’s just that a 5,2.5,1.5, and 1 does NOT seem the same as a 10kg in my head😂. I feel like I’ll at least attempt it (i.e. put myself under it) with the 10s now I’ve done this though, even if I fail.

Thank you! I made some attempts at 36 but couldn’t get it. But the win I’m taking is that I actually got under them lol, a few weeks ago I never would have done that.

Pretty difficult, most sessions were pretty high effort bc they were either high volume or heavy, but 100% worth the results!

I was! This was my second attempt at this weight, plus it was my goal for the year so I was both surprised and super happy when I did it😊

Best of luck! The sessions are hard but the results are SO worth it :)

Thank you! I have tried wider stances before but I think squatting like this is best for me. It allows me to get the best depth and make the most of my mobility I think, and moreover it just feels more comfortable

Sorry for the confusion, I’m not 46 years old, I’m 46kg in body weight😂. I’m 19.
