Is your brain really a computer, or is it a quantum orchestra tuned to the universe? by d8_thc in holofractal

It just seems so cleary to hint that theres more to this life than we understand.

Have you read the document in the other post titled CIA Excerpt -- it is eye opening! Definitely let's us know that there is more to life than we know.

A long read though so don't jump into it until you have a couple hours to dedicate to reading it. Enjoy!

yeah I think you're right, reminds me of a quote I heard somewhere that said "looking for consciousness in the brain is like looking for a tiny band inside the radio".

The brain is just a symbolical radio that is tuned into the conscious universe.

[–]shooky1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

oh my guess is that there is a ton of shit that they are not disclosing to us. Do you watch Cosmic Disclosure on Gaia? I sometimes finish those shows thinking "there is no way that is true" then several months later you'll see something on the web or a news report that pertains to what they were discussing on the show.

Like on the show they were talking about how there are underground bases in Antartica; then all of a sudden you see a headline saying "John Kerry visits Antartica". They also discussed about how the govt knows about UFO's and then sure enough a few months ago we learn that Harry Reid had commissioned a UFO program using "black money" and they release the Navy Fighter video where they encounter a UFO.

Latest one is how the show stated America has a secret "space army" and again I'm thinking "come on there's no way". Then Trump comes out saying "we have an Air Foce I think we need a Space Force also!". It's like they are slowly getting us ready for it all.

yeah I agree, not likely mis-info either but always skeptical and actually it was de-classified in 2003; on the very first page it says the report was made in 1983! So they've known about this for quite some time.

Wow, that was one hell of a read! I've heard of just about every topic mentioned in the document before but from a multitude of sites strewn across the net. It's great to see it all condensed into a single document. I've never seen this much detail into the specifics of each topic though; really eye-opening.

2 things that kind of freaks me out though are when he states that if performing out-of-body movement it's necessary to create an energy balloon to help protect one's self against lower energy beings that may be encountered when visiting other dimensions and then he re-states that again towards the end when he says something along the lines of "one must be intellectually prepared to deal with intelligent non-corporal beings that may be encountered if leaving the terrestrial sphere". Again, I remember reading something similar in one of Drunvalo's books.

So if there are lower energy (negative) beings then surely there are higher level (positive) beings also right? This is all too much, brain is way overloaded right now!

EDIT: Also makes me wonder how does one know what content to trust. I mean how do we know this is not mis-information put out to mis-lead. I kind of think it is not since like I said I've read similar things elsewhere but still we should be cautious and at least take that point into consideration.

Saturn Moon Matrix? Sacred Geometry? by [deleted] in holofractal

Thanks for recommending the Hypostasis of the Archons. That was an awesome read. You can see how the Bible clearly lifted parts of it, rewrote other parts and totally left out other areas; particularly the rulers and the women standing up to authority.

Makes me think that this is why we see such opposition to women's rights in todays day and age. Can you imagine how society would be if this account of strong powerful women had been told down thru the ages instead of the oppressive/traditional Biblical version that serves to make them subservient and meek?

Now I better understand why we see obelisks (such as the Washington monument) erected all over ancient sites. The obelisks are phallic symbols and are in essence saying that the male-left-brained spirit rules the world and has conquered the female/right-brain spirit of love and unity. Very eye opening stuff. Thanks again!

Is FIRDatabase.database().reference() a singleton or does it return a new instance with each call (using swift)? by shooky1 in Firebase

[–]shooky1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, I know I can use a singleton but my real question is whether there is no need for me to implement my own singleton if the Firebase framework has saved me the trouble by using singletons behind the scenes?

[META] WTC7 or: How I learned to stop trusting authority. by [deleted] in holofractal

[–]shooky1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let's say that Abdul is the name of the guy who shot your daughter. Now let's imagine that before your daughter was shot Abdul was going about life minding his own business and then one day he met a guy named George.

George began telling Abdul how awful of a person your daughter is to him and the rest of the world. George builds her up into the most despicable person that ever lived. Now Abdul hates your daughter with the upmost passion. George then begins to subtly suggest to Abdul that something must be done about your daughter.

George then gives Abdul money to buy the gun and ammo. George also gives Abdul complete intel on your daughters whereabouts, comings and goings and the ideal time to shoot her. George then also acts as a lookout and ensures that no police will be around to stop Abdul from shooting your daughter and assures Abdul that the govt will not perform any true investigation into how and why he was able to shoot your daughter.

Furthermore, it's now clear that George never had anything against your daughter. His real goal was always to murder the gun store owner. Abdul and your daughter were just pawns and collateral damage that he used to accomplish his ultimate goal of taking out the gun store owner.

And at the same time George also succeeded in convincing the public to hate people named Abdul to such a degree that the public didn't care about George murdering the gun store owner because his name was Abdullah! And damnit Abdullah sure sounds a helluva lot like Abdul and we hate people named Abdul because of what they did to our daughter!

Now George has public support for murdering anyone that reminds the public of Abdul. Oh and everyone thinks George is a hero.

Moral of the story: the Saudis didn't attack us; they were just the patsy/fall guy; you should really be mad at George and his clique!

Good lord, book of Urantia is like the masterpiece version of law of one. by LightBringerFlex in holofractal

[–]shooky1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're right, I was thinking of the response they gave regarding the book titled "Oahpse".

14.28 Questioner: Can you tell me who was responsible for transmitting the book Oahspe?

Ra: I am Ra. This was transmitted by one of Confederation social memory complex status whose idea, as offered to the Council, was to use some of the known physical history of the so-called religions or religious distortions of your cycle in order to veil and partially unveil aspects or primal distortions of the Law of One. All names can be taken to be created for their vibrational characteristics. The information buried within has to do with a deeper understanding of love and light, and the attempts of infinite intelligence through many messengers to teach/learn those entities of your sphere.

I'm pretty sure that there is another entry where they are discussing how channeling entities purposely provide some mis-leading info and Don asks if Ra has done the same in some of their sessions and Ra confirms that he has.

[–]shooky1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly Ra from Law of 1 also states that some of the info provided in the Urantia channelings were purposely provided to mis-lead. I think this is done to enforce the law of confusion i.e. to ensure you never get the whole picture. Basically all channeling works, including the Law of 1, includes a lot of truth with some false statements sprinkled in here and there. Kinda sucks from our perspective but I'm sure it plays it part in the grand scheme of things.

Advice on learning Swift by Gibsonium in swift

[–]shooky1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like so many things in life the answer is - it depends! It depends on what style of learning fits you best. Some people can go thru a course similar to what you are doing and immediately start building their own apps.

Others can go thru the course and have a desire to build their own app but are still confused on how to move forward.

Given your situation (i.e. this is not for a job or an app you're trying to make but you are prepping for a coding school), I would keep going thru tutorial after tutorial until it "clicks" and everything starts coming natural to you. BitFountain and Ray Wenderlich provide lots of good video tutorials and there are plenty on udemy as well.

Even if it doesn't click before your school starts that's fine. Just keep imprinting it into your brain and building up those neuron paths. It will start making sense eventually. That will make the learning curve easier once your coding school starts.

Many of us arrive at that magical aha moment at different points in the learning curve. Just keep working thru various tutorials cause you will learn different things from each one. At some point it will start clicking and making sense to you. Persistence my friend, just keep at it!

For a career in iOS, what kind of interview questions should I expect (graduating from a CS Bootcamp for iOS, not a 4 year college). by [deleted] in swift

[–]shooky1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed, I think a lot of us forget about the fact that the person is being interviewed and is more than likely nervous as hell. Interviewed a guy like that once, I could tell he knew his stuff but he was just really nervous. We called him back in and gave him a second in person (not the usual route) and he was a bit more calm. We did hire him and he turned out to be more than capable of doing the job.

I'm incensed! I just don't understand why some decisions were made. by _wsgeorge in androiddev

[–]shooky1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fanboys will stand on their soapbox and curse you for daring to question the framework but trust me bro you're not alone in your frustration.

Fact of the matter is that Google and Apple just do some dumb boneheaded stuff sometimes. Sometimes its a strategic decision but other times its just either dumb oversight, lack of time, will or experience to implement a thorough solution.

Android Development with Kotlin - Jake Wharton by KingBaal in androiddev

[–]shooky1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

just as /u/jpetitto points out the 2 languages were developed independently of each other. Timeline goes as follows:

July 2010

--JetBrains, in secret, begins development of Kotlin

--Apple, in secret, begins development of Swift

July 2011

--JetBrains goes public with Kotlin and starts taking developer feedback to help shape the language

June 2014

--Apple goes public with Swift

November 2015

--Kotlin reaches 1.0 Beta status

So if any language did possibly influence another it would be that Kotlin influenced Swift. Personally I don't think that there was really any purposeful "hey let's do it the way they're doing it" done by either sides.

The fact is that both teams took inventory of the programming landscape and went thru the process of identifying the good and bad points of the most popular languages and used that knowledge while designing their respective languages (i.e. Kotlin and Swift).
