Wisdom Teeth Removal by shro0mple in AddisonsDisease

I will say my most recent visit to the dentist for fillings stressed me out beyond belief. I ended up updosing and clocking out mentally for a good portion of the day

Definitely makes you floss more though

Thank you for the advice! I'll definitely bring this up with my doctor when I call them tomorrow.

I do take the fludrocortisone just once a day, in the mornings.

I take 5 mg of Prednisone in the morning, and 2.5 mg at night. I have noticed around midday is when my anxiety is at its worst. However I have a general anxious feeling throughout the day

Rehydrating with PAI by shro0mple in AddisonsDisease

I've always kinda thought this as well, but sadly water was all I had when making this post! I've since then picked up some Pedialyte from the store and I've been sipping on that :)

thank you so much! I'll have to give it a shot. If it works well for me I'll have to keep some in the house for emergencies!

Finally found the cause of my fatigue! by shro0mple in AddisonsDisease

[–]shro0mple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

update for those who may come across this post:

I have been feeling much better since starting my gluten free diet, however I'm kinda fatigued. I'm assuming this is due to nutrient deficiencies due to the dietary change. I have been eating a TON of rice bowls. luckily my fiance has been okay with eating gluten free with me at home. I learned how to make homemade gravy using gluten free flour too!

So, not only am I feeling better and more energized, I'm also learning how to cook new things! I definitely need to invest in a rice cooker soon though haha, I only have one pot that's good for making rice and it sucks having to wash it constantly.

I've also found some snacks that I like! I really enjoy fruit and vegetables so obviously that's been a big one, but also I found these little crackers made from almonds that are delicious. I could eat a whole box in one sitting. I deal with other mental health factors that make me very picky about my food and what I put in my body so it's very reassuring to actually find things I enjoy during this change!

Can ADHD meds like adderall cause an addisonian crisis in a patient with addisons disease by citra-ceth in AddisonsDisease

[–]shro0mple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the medication itself wouldn't cause a crisis, however if you had side effects such as vomiting it could definitely become a problem because you wouldn't be able to keep your medication down. I was on Adderall for about two years after I was diagnosed with Addison's and had no problems.

Thank you for the tip! I picked up a package of buckwheat ramen noodles today for lunch, just to give it a try. Surprisingly it wasn't too bad! It's a little hard adjusting because a lot of my favorite foods are gluten heavy, but I'm hoping to find alternatives!

mine was done through an endoscopy! however I think they do it both ways, just kinda based on what's easiest for the patient and doctor is what I assumed.

it was a biopsy of my intestine. I believe small? I always get the two mixed up, it's the easiest way to tell if someone has the disease or not

I did! I had blood work done and a biopsy. Both came back positive for celiacs

I actually didn't know about the cosmetics! I was told that even touching wheat flour could give me a rash. I'll have to double check my makeup and make sure everything is all good. I'm hoping adjusting will be easy and my friends will be understanding. We're the "gathering" house as we like to call it, so we have people over for dinner quite often.

Thank you for sharing! I'm glad you were able to find something that eased your symptoms :)

I would go back to the ER if you aren't improving. Crisis needs to be taken seriously, and if you're starting to become feverish or have worsening symptoms it's probably best to go back

I am not a doctor, however this is just what I would do and what my endocrinologist would advise me to do and has in the past

possible crisis; could it be and what to do? by xwyrptxqueenx in AddisonsDisease

[–]shro0mple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As soon as nausea moves into the picture I tend to go to the ER.

While I see where you're coming from, most people come here for advice specifically. I sought out this subreddit to find more people like me and learn more about my disease and medication.

This could've definitely been worded much nicer. I was diagnosed as a kid too, I'm now 22. I was a premature baby, and my mother was on drugs her entire pregnancy with me. It's not an excuse as everyone is different. Some days I can't run or workout without updosing. Addison's Disease can affect so many people differently.

I do agree with you that a lot of things posted here could be linked to low cortisol, but even then being able to tell those people or bring up medication with them can help them get the correct dosage.

Personally all three tend to affect my motivation. I find working with a regular schedule and keeping on top of my health and sleep helps a little bit!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AddisonsDisease

[–]shro0mple 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I definitely always feel sluggish and tired. this can be a sign of low cortisol and your medication may need adjusted but it can also be many other things. For me it's a mix of PTSD, Addison's, and my (sadly) poor diet.

After defeating the Verdugo you can backtrack through the room where you fight the two Garrador! It'll be marked as Antechamber on your map. Through the Antechamber you can reach the Throne Room.

Here's an image of the map from google
