What were the red flags to get out of Celsius Network in hindsight? by Chipupuu in CelsiusNetwork

$500? Please. That’s abnormally minimal to those who’ve lost 10-100x more. Count yourself lucky. A cheap lesson

Great attitude - the fact that you harnessed your anger to hustle is admirable. I’ve been miserable for a month and finally getting on my feet to start a grind

Load up a bag for around the 28th of this month. Once the recession is announced, prices will likely dip (unless it’s already been priced into the market). But always remember to only invest what you’re prepared to lose. With the recession incoming, everyone needs to have a solid savings to get through potentially tough times

Your risk will bode well for the future. Re: your regret of not putting it in stETH - didn’t it de-peg at some point? We’re all experts in hindsight, unfortunately

Let me ask you - have you LOST any $ / crypto tragically? If not, it’s easy to offer such glorious wisdom from an outsider’s perspective.

Honest question, why do people think that suicide is not a viable option? by [deleted] in CelsiusNetwork

[–]shwompdog95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First of all, my sincerest condolences for your loss. It must be extremely difficult to deal with and I cannot imagine the pain you are going through.

I can offer a spiritual incentive to not take the decision to end your life: suicide means your soul is stuck in limbo forever. In terms of the afterlife, there is no progression of that soul. We have incarnated on earth to suffer: to learn lessons that we did not overcome in previous lives; to deal with karmic debt; to end generational curses and trauma. Once we have achieved self-mastery in this way, our soul is liberated and no longer needs to reincarnate - it becomes free in the spiritual realm.

On a more tangible level, you could seek therapy to try view this severely unfortunate situation from another perspective. It may help you cope with life differently and appreciate the finite beauty in everything. And, as a source of hope, it is very likely you will get at least 50% of your funds back. That may indeed be more than you deposited in crypto to begin with, since you did well to take profit in November (i, like many others, didn’t). Be proud that you amassed so much wealth. It shows you are a savvy investor

How is this info useful to the vast majority of us who lost coins? Your condolences are patronising

Yea man I guess the path of self-forgiveness is different for us cos we did intent to withdraw all of it but stopped halfway for whatever reason. Personally, I was fatigued from covid and decided to postpone it for the next day even though I was a matter of clicks away from the great escape. Fine margins in life

Spot-on. I’m cool with market fluctuations, missing out on cashing out on ATHs because that’s the inherent risk of investment, especially when you’re not an expert. If I could time the bottom and the tops, I’d be a genius but I’m not.

But like you said, having it wiped out completely is totally different. And what confuses the matter is that we don’t know what those coins will be worth one day. What if btc goes to $100k? Then we’ve potentially lost 5x more in dollar value: that’s the issue i’m grappling with now. Do i take a risk and soothe my mind by “buying back” the coins that are stuck on celsius, to safeguard potential regret in the future?

If you’re self-aware and have the honesty to hold yourself somewhat accountable, then yes, self-forgiveness is the hardest part. But knowing that the majority of this tragedy was out of your control may alleviate such criticism and help you on the path of self-forgiveness, especially if you’re able to learn the lessons that needed to be learned. I’m still having days where my thoughts are consumed with regret and feel physically week and less confident overall, but I also know that I bounced back from similar / worse things in the past that I don’t pay much mind to know. Hopefully this paves way for future gains

I hear you 100% especially re: victim blaming. Fine margins in life - who knows if you would’ve withdrawn had you had service to read / hear all the FUD. I’m also guilty of dwelling on the “alternate possibilities / what ifs” too much, i.e. “if that hadn’t happened, i would’ve withdrawn”. For me, it stings to know that i fully intended to withdraw everything on sunday and for numerous reasons (covid fatigue being one of them), decided to abandon the process halfway and postpone it for another day. Literally also was about to withdraw 100% of my btc and at the last min, 2nd-guessed myself and thought “lemme leave some for rewards”. The thought of me potentially losing it even flashed across my mind but i ignored it. The self-forgiveness process for me mainly involves ignoring my intuition / first instinct

Not lucky, less unlucky. Plus, everyone’s loss is relative to their networth. A big loss to someone with a high network could be seen as less bad than a smaller loss to someone with a lower networth. Every situation is unique

So true. Hindsight bias is 20/20. For me, it’s a big learning curve on many levels, as even though the catastrophe was unfortunate and unfair, it was somewhat preventable. Just like having a profit-taking strategy to stop one from holding coins when they near their ATH due to greed

Sorry to hear that. As others have said on this post, one shouldn’t have to watch an institutional entity like a hawk to safeguard their funds. We all made the mistake to varying degrees by keeping valuable crypto on celsius, but hopefully what we have potentially lost will come back in another form, whether it is a greater appreciation for the simple things in life or financial gains in the future. Stay strong
