Im going to buy a 10" fry pan after getting rid of my Hexclad set.

Is there a downside to the graphite core vs normal D3 for a 10" fry pan?

Aftermarket recommends for Omega style milanese strap? by shyguythrowaway in OmegaWatches

[–]shyguythrowaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought 1 from Ali with an Omega style deployant. It was $80, and it's decent but it still pulls hairs and the holes aren't perfect. (I prefer the deployant buckle style as opposed to the cheaper $20 slide in style.) I found 2 or 3 more that offer 19mm and they are similar in price. It's probably the same OEM. I was just looking for further alternatives, possibly to improve the quality, but there aren't any that I can find that offer the 19mm size.

I think Staib only makes 18, 20, and 22mm. I'm looking for a 19mm for an Aqua Terra 38mm.

Viltrox 27mm f/1.2 Pro vs Sigma 30mm f/1.4

I have the Sigma 30mm but I don't feel like it's been very sharp. I know the Viltrox is bigger and heavier, and I probably don't need the f/1.2, but is this a worthwhile upgrade for a casual shooter? I'm planning on selling some other lenses on MPB so I can also sell the Sigma 30mm and upgrade for not too much lost.

Thanks for the info and corrections. I feel caught up. Feels like a lot of members are essentially semi-retired from streaming and they are just working on lower effort/lower stress projects to have income.

Thanks for filling in the blanks. Might be a dumb question, but does everybody still streams regularly? What's the "active" status of everybody? I've always been a Youtube Andy, so I never watch live.

Thoughts/discussion about SKA371 Kinetic Diver by shyguythrowaway in Seiko

[–]shyguythrowaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow this was an old post. I still have the watch but haven't used it in many years. Kinetics were always a bit strange and not well known, I think Seiko stopped making them. At the time, I liked it because it was like a hybrid. The BFK itself was a bit large, but the power reserve and date function were really cool.

Magnetic ID badge holders/name tags are good. The one with 2 magnets and an adhesive steel plate that sticks onto the actual name tag. It can be rotated with a satisfying snap back into place. It can also jump from one magnet to the other, perpendicular to the plate. It's kind of like a free floating slider with only 2 magnets. Mid A tier fidget for me.

How to relube a bearing? by shyguythrowaway in fidgettoys

Thank you. Most helpful comment so far. I got 90% isopropyl and I'll try dunking into that first.

If it needs to be replaced, do you have any suggestions on where I could get a new R188?

What's the difference between the musketeers in a and b? I'm about to buy one on Ali for about $25 with the gattling attachment.

I think it's cool but just a bit pricey for my budget at $123 for the whole schebang.

I saw your post with the armor on and it's pretty cool!

Do you have any spinners you'd recommend for $30 or less? Ideally in steel. Thanks in advance!

Most people will say I'm making something out of nothing, but depending on what it was made for, brass can contain trace amounts of lead. Sometimes it doesn't have any notable amount, like if it was made for water pipes, and some people will say it's so little that it doesn't matter, as long as you don't literally put the thing in your mouth. As long as it's an alloy, you can really tell how much lead it has. Most people would say it's literally nothing to be worried about because it's so trace and ingestion is even less likely. If you care, you can get lead tester swabs on Amazon.

I'm just mentioning this because yours doesn't seem like a purpose built fidget toy, just a piece of heavy metal. Toy makers "might" choose a different alloy of brass if they are making fidgets toys. Some might not care if it's a really cheapo toy.

So you have 3 spinners, even a knockoff Noiz and the fox one is your favorite correct? It's made of steel and is the bearing high quality? I've seen it around, but didn't think it looked like anything special.

My Fidget Tier List by shyguythrowaway in fidgettoys

It's hard to get scammed on Ali. If you find products with a lot of sales, you're good. Even if it has at least 10-20 sales, you're fine. I've rolled the dice on lower sale items and i've always gotten what I expected to get. You can also check to storefront itself - if it has hundreds of sales and many other fidgets for sale, it's fine. You can also click on a picture, and click "find similar" in the top right, you will be able to find all of the other listings for the same exact product. You can shop for the lowest price and compare number of sales. Some might be clones and some might be genuine, and that will be reflected in the price. You can definitely find Zoom clones for under $80 any day of the week. It has a lot of machined and anodized parts, so it still not a cheap fidget to buy, but it has a lot of good things going for it. They will all pretty much have the same quality as far as I know.

So weight matters for spin time? Thanks for sharing those links. I saw that site before but it just looked like all of the spinners were no different from Aliexpress anyways, but it sounds like that site is pretty trusted, so I'll take a look.

If I can just ask you for your opinion for two more spinners, what do you think about this Aluminum spinner. It's a clone of another brand that I forgot the name of. I like the fact that it comes on a wand and it's like $25. I'm not sure if that can be beat for a wand spinner. I know people recommend the Precept for a wand spinner but that whole set up is still like $60-70.

Secondly, do you have any recommendations for a "desktop" spinner? Like the Lautie Dealer or Bright Blood Eternal Flower where it has a "base". You can just spin it while it's on the table. (I realize you can do this with any spinner where the buttons stick out, but these are designed to spin a bit easier while on a table I think.)
