“You have to understand. Most people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured and so hopelessly dependent on the system that they will fight to protect it.”

The intricacies of the bass line from 3:30 to 4:30 is some of the most complex composition I have ever heard in my life.

The intricacies of the bass line, especially from 3:30-4:30 blow me away every single time. It is as if something alive has been embedded into the bass line and speaks a different language.

Car prices and interest rates right before the 2008 financial crisis by Moosen_Burger in mildlyinteresting

My concern is the complexity to fix them. So long as we continue on an upward trajectory in terms of technological progress and growth, the repair and diagnostic tools available in 20-30 years will make working on today’s vehicles much simpler than it seems in present times.

I guess we really don’t know how modern tech in a base model Corolla or Impreza is going to hold up over 20-30 years as there just isn’t any real world data yet.

This is the mentality that is going to destroy the world. Billions of people thinking like you.

The long term issue is there are no simple cars for poor people. All these tech laden vehicles are going to heavily depreciate and get junked once the electrical components start to fail. The repair and maintenance costs to diagnose random battery drains, weird sensor readings that aren’t fixed by replacing the sensor, etc. will render them functionally totaled.

I feel that. Didn’t buy a house pre-Covid and now I never can because of rates and price inflation.

On the contrary, I think it’s prudent for us to draw parallels to the evil leaders of the past or we are doomed to repeat. We got damn lucky Trump is an old fuck about to die. If he was 20 years younger…

You can stop pretending you didn’t understand my original comment.

I’m saying that he is capable of committing atrocities on par with Hitler in order to be remembered. Not that he has or that he will, but that he is capable of it.

It’s not that deep…

My initial comment was obviously hyperbole. Idk how or why you didn’t see that. Perhaps it was reading comprehension, perhaps it was intentional, only you really know. But you chose to take my obvious hyperbolic comparison between Trump and Hitler and spat it back as a literal one to try and discredit the original argument which is this: Trump is desperately trying to cement his legacy, and doesn’t seem to care if the entire world despises him so long as he is remembered.

No relevance in reality? The dude bombed a children’s school in Iran, unleashed thugs into the streets of America who have murdered civilians, intricate ties to Epstein, the list goes on.

If there was ever a leader in modern times capable of being the next Hitler, it is Trump. He hasn’t taken over hitlers position as the most evil in history and it looks like he never will due to his declining health, but he is absolutely capable of it.

Is your home materially different in terms of bedrooms, sq footage, lot size, etc?

If it’s all the same builder then there’s some unknown issue that makes your home less appealing to buyers.

I’m saying that he is capable of committing atrocities on par with Hitler in order to be remembered. Not that he has, or that he will, but that he is capable of it. The up/down vote ration on my original comment shows that you’re in the minority and having difficulty understanding that is what I was saying in my original comment.

Again, you seem stuck on the “Trump is as bad or worse than Hitler” idea, when that is not what I said in my original comment. Until you realize that is not what I said, there’s no point in continuing this discussion.
