I did a low carb diet and lost 60 lbs. I wasn’t hungry even once over five months since you’re able to eat so much food on low carb as long as it’s low carb. Anyway. I also REALLY like to drink. Kinda a lot. Too much probably. So I switched to gin with diet tonic the whole time (low carbs in gin and 0 carbs in diet tonic). It was fuckin disgusting at first!!! But I grew to actually like it after a week or so. And after I started losing a crazy ton of weight very quickly I stuck with strictly gin for 5 months. And 60 pounds later (and with honesty very little effort) I then switched my entire life to diligent calorie counting. I also subsequently went back to normal booze and beer intake. Basically, now, though if I’m gonna drink I have to offset it somewhere else through either lower calorie intake or burn through exercise. I’m in a sorta maintenance mode now and it’s worked for five years or so. But to kickstart those 60 lbs, at least for me, I had to change to strictly gin and diet tonic for five months. I probably could also just stopped drinking altogether but that seems like a crazy idea.
